Sian O’Gorman
Sian O’Gorman was born in Ireland, and is an RTE radio producer.

She deals with writer’s block with cups of tea, walking her dogs, eating, which are all good for procrastination.

Sian writes and inspiration will just find her, and there are always these snapshots and snippets which find their way into her subconscious. You just never know what’s going to resonate.

The best part about being a writer is creating your world and spending some time getting to know the characters better.

“Friends Like Us” is the first stand alone novel and was released in 2016. Is it ever too late to take charge and start living life on your own terms?

Life for school friends Ellis, Melissa, and Steph has not quite worked out the way that they once imagined that it might.

Steph is lost and lonely, balancing the fragile threads of family life and walking on eggshells around her angry teen daughter and her philandering husband.

Melissa might be successful professionally speaking, however on the inside she is a whole mess of insecurities.

Ellis is a hardworking A&E doctor, who is utterly exhausted by the day to day pressures of work and going through the motions with Rob, her long-time partner.

This is crunch time for all of these friends.

“Always and Forever” is the second stand alone novel and was released in 2017.
Family, love, and coming to terms with your past. How can you find yourself again, when you cannot even face what you have lost?

Joanna Woulfe is looking to get her life back on its track after her husband up and leaves their family home. Jo, who was once a high-flying PR Director, now looks after Harry (her son) and seeks support just from Marietta (her mom) and Nicole (her best friend). However Nicole’s own marriage faces its greatest crisis ever, and Marietta is also distracted by an old flame’s reappearance, in Patrick Realta (Showband-singer and lothario).

Jo quickly enrolls with a colorful local amateur dramatics group and starts a flirtation with handsome young Ronan Forest. However is she really prepared to move on from her old life, and from her many years of marriage to John? And what was it that happened three years prior which sent the couple into freefall?

Before too long Jo is going to realize that’s just by looking back that she’ll ever really be able to move forward.

“Together Forever” is the third stand alone novel and was released in 2018. Whenever life demands that you make a decision, how do you even know that you are making the right one?

Tabitha Thomas gave up on having a happy family life with Michael (her high-flying and absent husband) long ago. So instead she concentrated her energies on Rosie, their daughter, and her career working as a head teacher at a local primary school.

But trouble is looming on the horizon. As Rosie struggles with the most important exams of her young life, Tabitha’s eco-warrior mom protests outside of the school gates in order to save some trees from the bulldozer. And Clodagh, her best friend and a top TV news broadcaster, self-soothes with baileys, while she is getting edged out of a job by this ambitious flame haired weather girl.

And finally, with an old flame’s return, and a political expose to deal with, Tabitha gets forced to face a choice that she made such a long time ago and face up to the life-changing consequences that she has been living with ever since.

This is a beautifully romantic and fantastically written book. It is full of drama, family, love, life, and romance. It’s an excellent novel that has so much going on in it. There are characters of every age sprinkled into this novel with sense, nonsense, and good humor. Here is a family drama that is gentle, warm, funny in parts, and true to life. The novel’s a lot like a hug.

“Life After You” is the fourth stand alone novel and was released in 2020. What if the person that you have lost, is also the one that you need to find?

Milly Bryne’s world came crashing down all around after she lost her beloved father and boyfriend in just a matter of weeks. Losing her dad broke her whole family. Losing her soulmate made her give up on love and life.

Milly, after she swerved from stability to chaos to despair, believes that she finally has got her life back on track once the unexpected return of a familiar face to Dublin throws her entire life into a spin.

She is forced to decide if her new life is really the one for her, or if there’s some other path which will bring her even greater riches of excitement, joy, and fun. Life is not just worth living if your heart isn’t in it, right?

“Life’s What You Make It” is the fifth stand alone novel and was released in 2021. Dreams can come true, you really only have to believe.

Liv O’Neill, after spending 10 whole years in London, working at a stressful City firm, returns back home to Sandycove, this picturesque idyllic seaside village, right outside of Dublin in order to care for her mom after she fell. As Liv reconnects with family and friends, she’s amazed by Sandycove’s thriving community spirit with its deli, artisan shops, and cafes, it isn’t exactly the place that she went and left behind.

While village life starts creeping underneath her skin, Liv’s forced to face the things which drove her away. Can Liv balance her past, present, and future and find a happy place of her own?

And is one handsome doctor going to help her make a choice about the life that she truly wants?

All of a sudden her old life back in London starts to seem totally unappealing to her and Liv’s forced to use her family’s past in order to forge a brand new future for herself.

Sian delivers a novel that is joyful and utterly irresistible. This is a gorgeous story about community, friendship, and starting over, making it a perfect summer read.
