Look Behind You
Chloe Benson, a 27-year-old teacher, wakes up to find out her wrists and legs are tied. She has a big lump on her head and is experiencing an intense headache. She has been kidnapped and is held in an underground tomb, and she can’t recall how she ended up there. All she can see is total darkness with no single light, natural or artificial.

She’s terrified, but the panic slowly fades as she is set to find a way out of the tomb since she isn’t ready to die yet. She miraculously gets an escape route through the deserted woods where she runs so fast, hoping her abductor will not catch up with her. Unfortunately, no one seems to believe her story.

Chloe has no idea who did this to her, and everyone, including her close people, becomes a suspect. At the hospital where passers-by took her, It’s found out that she has no memory of anything that happened in the last seven weeks apart from how she escaped.

Her last memory before that is her Husband Liam’s 40th birthday party. The doctors and police don’t believe her words and think she is lying or hallucinating due to her reaction to antidepressants because it has happened to her in the past. Having suffered depression and hallucinations, they believe she imagined everything she was saying

Soon Chloe suspects that her Husband is deceiving her, and she is left with no option but to track her past using her own footsteps to get the truth while staying alive. Chloe is determined to prove the words she is saying, but she has to be prepared to face some scary moments before finding out the truth.

After being taken home from the hospital, her Husband informs her that she has been previously institutionalized due to her mental illness after she got an adverse reaction to antidepressants that she was taking.
He also tells her how she began screaming and digging in the garden, claiming that someone had been following her, but all that was because of hallucinations caused by the medicine. Chloe is unsure whether to trust her memory; she gets set to start investigating since the police don’t take it seriously.

In the course of the investigations, she realizes that her Husband has been lying to her. This makes her wonder who she can trust. Will she discover the truth before whoever kidnapped her returns to complete his mission? Might it be true that everything is just in her mind?

Who has been following Chloe all this time? And why? With all her strength, Chloe decides to fight back to know who has been following her. She must solve this mystery to move on with her life.
Look behind you is a psychological thriller that keeps the reader flipping pages to the last one trying to unveil the psycho on the loose. Sibel Hodge uses the first point of view so that the reader can understand the ongoing thoughts in the mind of Chloe.

It’s a gripping story that will leave you questioning everything you knew at the start.
In most stories, there are usually three parts, mine, yours, and the truth. Alissa is a doll who has been living her life as a princess. She and Max are madly in love with each and live a life to be admired by everyone. They’ve been living an admirable life as newlyweds. They are so much in love and extremely rich.

Soon Alissa’s millionaire husband of one month is killed in his home office, and Alissa is lucky to escape. Max was working upstairs with music on while Alissa had gone to take a bath, and when she came out, she went looking for her Husband to see a man running out of his office.

She escapes through the bathroom window, runs for her life, and is recovering from the shock in the hospital. No one sees her as a suspect as she is not only a beautiful sweet wife who was deeply in love with her Husband but wouldn’t also harm a fly.

Blinded by her beauty, the police ignore everything that doesn’t seem to add up. Investigations show no sign of any forced entry into the home. The only person who believes there is more to Max’s murder is DS Warren Carter. Might Alissa be guilty of the murder, or is she innocent, as everyone thinks?

Why did the killer spare Alissa and only Max was killed? The search for the killer starts, and there are several leads, such as Max’s source of wealth. Might his unscrupulous business activities catch up with him?

His close and loyal friends keep Alissa company while she mourns the death of her husband and tries to pick up her life. However, soon it’s discovered that not everyone is who they appear to be, as some are jealous and hide dark secrets and twisted love below the surface. They believe that not all fairy tales always have happy endings.

Sibel Hodge turns everything you earlier thought you knew upside down while taking the plotline inside out.

Detective Carter is unhappy with Richard Wilmott, who is ignorant of everything. The two are constantly at each other’s throats threatening demotion for Carter as it’s evident that only one division will make it. When the murder happens, they have to try to make amends. Carter is suspicious of everyone, including the young wife, who inherited everything after eight weeks of marriage.

Carter shows his determination to solve the murder mystery while DI Wilmott continues playing the nursemaid to the young wife of the deceased. The investigations bring up some suspects, including an ex who turned into a stalker and some resentful business customers of Max’s shady business practices.

It appeared like a police procedure book; Carter knows the killer is but isn’t able to prove it thanks to a superior who obsesses with Alisa and wants the investigation to be shut down.

Duplicity is a suspenseful thriller with complex and interesting characters. The twists and turns keep the reader in suspense, guessing what will happen next. The novel begins with two alternating stories: a struggle with an abusive family, a dreadful father figure, an unconcerned mother, and a procedural murder mystery.
