Wendy Mass is an American author who speaks both Spanish and English. She was born on 22nd April in the year 1967. She highly focuses on children literature as well as young adult fiction books. She is popularly known for her ‘Every Soul a Star’ Book. In the year 2004, she received the Schneider Family Book Award for her book; ‘A Mango – Shaped Space’. She is a full-time novelist and her book, ‘Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life’ was adapted by Tamar Halpern to be featured in a film. The same person after adaption directed the book into the film. Wendy Mass was born in New Jersey, Livingston to be specific. Those days back in school, writing and reading were the favorite subjects of this author and from this passion, you would not be wrong to say that this is where the book writing came from. This is because her passion nurtured her skills for writing. When growing up, just like any other child, she had dreams and aspirations. For her, she wanted to be an astronaut when she grew up. It is during her junior high school that she did her first story with the help of her two siblings. This first story was about a cat that became a goat. The goat later got busy destroying her neighborhood. After this first story, Wendy Mass came up with a non-fiction story and the story was about a zoo. This second story was awarded a prize in the writing contest that took place in 8th grade. During her days in high school, Wendy Mass was passionate about working in the public libraries that were local. This pushed her a mile closer to her writing career because as you know, public libraries have got shelves of books, which she would take advantage of and read. This did her a lot of good in sharpening her writing skills to be the giant writer has been since then. Due to her love in writing that she developed and discovered when she was young, Wendy Mass pursued extra writing classes and later settled on the decision that writing was her career.

After high school, she joined Tufts University where she majored in English and as expected continued sharpening her skills for writing. It is throughout her college life that she started writing short stories. You would not be wrong to say that Wendy Mass has greatly invested in her career as an author and this was driven by her writing passion that she discovered during her childhood years. After graduating from college, she relocated to Los Angeles. While in Los Angeles, she pursued careers in writing like being a literary agent assistant, magazine editor, film producer, script reader and a television casting company assistant. These are the writing multitude businesses that she utilized her writing skill. After working in those positions, Wendy Mass realized that she had a calling to inspire teens, adults, and pre-teens through book writing. This is the only way she could reach out to all of them. This is when she relocated to New Jersey, which is her hometown and she did writing alongside being a book editor. For her book editing job, she did this out of Connecticut and New York City. Wendy Mass holds a Master’s degree from California State, Long Beach, where she majored in creative writing as her area of specialization. She also has a Doctor of Letters Degree and she got this from Drew University. She has since then been an achiever through her writing passion. She has released 17 educational books meant for teens in a successful manner. Besides getting the Schneider Family Book Award, she has been awarded the American Library Association Award. This is the award given to winners of the best book for the teenage category. She has won the Green Lakes Book Award as well as Michigan State Award. In addition, she has New York Public Library Best Books for teenage category and New York Public has awarded her. She has been awarded 11 more state book awards. The ‘Candymakers’ is a book she wrote about a group of four children who attended a sweet making factory. Wendy Mass is happily married to her husband and this couple has a pair of twins. She resides in Sparta with her two cats and her family.

Book 2: Water Planet Rescue

It is available online, local bookshops and libraries. It is about the father of Archie Morningstar, who drove a taxi throughout space. Yes, it is unbelievable but Wendy Mass made this happen with her writing magic. Archie and his father, with the help of Pockets, their cat saved the universe by fighting crime.
