Avery Spark has always wanted to run the Spark House. It’s been her dream for her whole life to be in charge of the hotel and event space, something that has been part of her family for years. She has worked hard for years and has made many personal sacrifices, and now Avery has accomplished what she set out to do. She and her two younger sisters have been able to transform the Spark House into Colorado Spring’s main destination.
Avery is thrilled and loves the life that she has. She’s able to run Spark House, and on top of that, she’s able to work alongside her sisters and enjoys every minute of it. She also has a great bunch of friends and loves living in her chic condo with Declan, her best friend. Maybe she doesn’t have a boyfriend or any type of love in her life, but Avery knows that she’s happy and is content with that.
Things suddenly get turned all upside down when Avery gets involved in a car accident. The accident has left her off of her feet for weeks. For Declan, the risk of almost losing Avery makes him realize that he really cares for her even more than he already knew. He insists on being the person that takes care of her while she gets better. But as he takes over the role of caretaker, lines slowly begin to blur.
Declan has been friends with Avery ever since college. The two have always gotten along well as friends and have always felt something of an attraction for each other. But when she started dating Sam, his best friend, the feelings that they may have had suddenly took a backseat. Things have been the same ever since.
As the pair of them have quality time with the other, each starts wondering about what would have happened if they had gone out together instead of Avery going out with Sam. Declan is there for her as a friend, but that eventually turns into foreplay. Before the pair knows it, they have started to tap into how much they care about each other. Things begin to get serious when their past may get in the way of everything they have now. Will Avery fall for Declan? Can she heal and get back to the Spark House? Read this book to find out!
Starry-Eyed Love is the second book in the Spark House series by Helena Hunting. If you liked the first book, check this one out and see what you think in this charming and emotional read!
London Spark has just recently broken up with her boyfriend and is just working her head around that. She’s not in the place where she is looking to get hit on by other men, that is for sure. That is especially true more than ever when London happens to be out celebrating the fact that she is single along with her sisters. This is her time to just be herself and not have to deal with any men, strange ones or ones that she has known before.
This is reinforced when a handsome man decides to pay for the drinks of the group and then gives London his number. She’s not all that interested in the endeavor and passes it right on back to the attractive gentleman, noting that she thanks him for the number but is passing on it all the same. She also has more important things to worry about.
London happens to be the business administrator for the Spark House, the event hotel owned by her family. She has more important things to focus on and worry about at the moment more than just getting and giving numbers out willy-nilly. She’d rather put her energy into bringing in new clientele to the hotel than be starting up a new relationship with a guy when she just got out of one. Better to take the time to heal and get herself back on her feet and focus on work rather than get involved in something new that could potentially be a lot of drama.
London finds that new clientele might not be as far away as she thinks. The businesswoman may be in luck since who should call but a multi-million-dollar company some months later, wanting to talk about potentially partnering together. London wants to prove to herself and to her sisters that she is able to get this deal.
She puts on a presentation for the company and thinks that she has nailed it. That’s when the CEO of the company, Jackson Holt, comes in and becomes part of the meeting. Who should he be but the same exact person that London turned down months ago while at the bar? London cannot believe the coincidence.
It soon turns out that London is going to be working more with Jackson. The two start working together and spending time together, and soon, their relationship becomes more than just working and becomes something more. Once their professional obligations are over, Jackson and London might just be ready to take their relationship to the next level. But with Jackson’s past and London’s relationship with her sisters, London is going to have to figure out what she wants to do with her job and with Jackson too. Will she be able to figure it out? Read this book to find out!
