As an American author of paranormal and urban fantasy novels, Stacey Brutger is well known for her creative and intelligent fiction. Early and Personal Life

Interested in writing for a long period of time, Stacey Brutger would always have a fascination in the written word. This would develop over time until she finally saw her first full novel published, with which she would make a name for herself. Always on the lookout for a new and exciting idea, she would harness her imagination, allowing it to open up vast new worlds on the page for her.

Living in rural Minnesota, she lives with her husband and their dog, as she constantly seeks inspiration from the world around her. Often taking long walks, she also has a passion in science-fiction and horror, also using it to help inspire her as a writer. Currently still writing to this very day, she continues to put out work at a regular and consistent pace, with a lot more to follow.

Writing Career

The first novel that Stacey Brutger would write and publish was released back in 2012, introducing her to the reading public at large for the first time. This book would be titled ‘The Demon Within,’ and it was also to be the first in the ‘Peacekeeper’ series of fantasy books. That same year she’d also go on to release her ‘Raven Investigations’ series of fantasy novels, beginning with the book ‘Electric Storm,’ also released in 2012 as well.

Other series that she’d go on to release would be titled ‘Druid Quest,’ ‘Academy of Assassins,’ ‘Phantom Touch,’ and ‘Clash of the Demigods.’ In 2013 she would also release her first stand-alone novel called ‘Bloodworm,’ along with ‘Coveted’ in 2014, which were also both fantasy. Continuing to write, she’s appreciated by both critics and the general public alike, with lots more planned in the pipeline.

Electric Curse

First brought out on the Kindle platform in September 2020, this would be the sixth book in the ‘Raven Investigations’ series. Continuing on directly from the previous titles, it carries on the epic saga, with the books really needing to be read in order. It’s a paranormal romance novel, as there’s both action and passion, whilst providing a lot of escapism for the reader.

Bridging the line between humans and the supernatural, Raven has been caught between the two worlds for some time now. That’s when she makes a misstep, leading to a team of trained assassins targeting her, and now she must put her trust in her own pack after the monster within disappears. As everyone races to create the perfect soldier, Raven is believed to be the key to unlocking this vast amount of potential. Will she be able to keep herself out of harm’s way though, can she uncover the truth of it all, and just what is behind the electric curse?

This is another fun paranormal fantasy novel from Brutger, really evoking a sense of the epic, creating a vast and expansive world. Its characters are engaging, with Raven taking charge as the leader, showing what she’s truly capable of once again. There’s plenty of twists and turns and the reader is constantly kept guessing every step of the way, with its gripping and compelling storyline.

Queen of the Assassins

This would initially come out on the Kindle platform during 2020 on the 28th of October, and it would setup the fourth title in the ‘Academy of Assassins’ series. An ongoing fantasy series, these books are best read in order, as the narrative and character arcs are continued from the previous books. It also paves the way for a fifth book, ‘Guardians of the Assassins,’ to be released in 2022, along with some shorter novellas in-between.

Taking time away from the coven, Morgan, along with her men, decide to deal with a mysterious disappearance, whilst also building their bonds. That’s when they’re suddenly attacked, leaving them vulnerable, as their vacation is suddenly turned into a nightmare, as they must prevent evil from spreading to the human world. With wards placed around them and rapidly weakening, they must hold the attackers at bay, even if it means being stuck there. How will they send these beasts back into the pits of hell, can they survive this ordeal, and what will become of the Queen of the Assassins?

The action is tense and taut, making for some truly exciting set pieces, giving the characters room to really grow. There’s so much character development here, as the connections between everyone builds over the course of the novel. In regards to the story itself, it really works as it’s simple and straightforward, providing room for the overall series to develop as a whole.
