One of her political lectures on a parliament house of the UK has covered 37 years of politics in the United Kingdom.

Author Whitelaw is credited to have created the chief protagonists Jordan Lacey and Katherine Cordelia ‘Casey’ Jones for their respective novel series. Jordan Lacey is depicted as an ex-policewoman turned private investigator and a businesswoman of antique items based in Latching, England. On the other hand, Katherine Cordelia Jones is described as an entertainment director and former dancer working on a cruise ship. Whitelaw’s books have entertained readers in many parts of the world. They have been liked and appreciated by one and all and are still read and re-read with great enthusiasm. Whitelaw expressed her gratitude for all those readers, critics, and reviewers for saying kind works for her books and helping them become widely successful. She is hoping to write a lot many romantic suspense and mystery novels in the upcoming years and expects her fans to read them with the same dedication and passion as they have read her previous books.

The Jordan Lacey series penned by author Stella Whitelaw is comprised of 9 books in total, released between 2000 and 2014. Each and every novel of this series features the main protagonist in the role of a private investigator antique dealer named Jordan Lacey living in Latching, West Sussex. Other essential characters mentioned by Whitelaw in the books include Detective Inspector James, Sonia Spiller, Ben Evans, Holly Broughton, Joanna Carter, Maddy, etc. A successful book of this thriller/mystery series is entitled ‘Spin and Die’. It was released by the Severn House publication in 2002. The lead characters mentioned in this novel include Jordan Lacey, Sonia Spiller, and DI James. Initially, Jordan Lacey is depicted as an eccentric and zany private investigator, who takes up a new case and intends to unravel its mystery with ingenuity and verve.

The case requires her to follow a woman named Sonia Spiller, who is suspected to have committed a fraud of compensation against department store in Latching. Jordan gets another surveillance case in the same store in which she is required to track down the vanishing stocks. Jordan Lacey poses as a temporary assistant of sales for the second job. Christmas also arrives at around the same time and Jordan assists DI James in buying a gift for his mother. Later, it is learned that a man has lost his life in a scary, high-tech fun-fair ride called Hell’s Revenge. Jordan Lacey investigates the tragic death and is shocked to find that all the three cases have a horrible link.

Jordan goes on to face the accusation of stalking someone as the plot continues to thicken. A bowling pavilion is destroyed with a JCB, revealing several grisly remains. Also, a close friend of Jordan gets badly beaten by several culprits who want Jordan to give up the investigation. But, she becomes much more determined to proceed with the investigation. When Jordan gets trapped inside a watermill wheel, DI James comes to rescue her. Together, they go on to solve the mystery behind the man’s death in Hell’s Revenge and also find proofs of Sonia Spiller fraud, arrest her, and send her for trial.

Another exciting book in this mystery series has the title ‘Hide and Die’. It was also published by Severn House in 2005 after it was initially released in 2003. This book contains the main characters in the form of DS Ben Evans, DI James, and PI Jordan Lacey. The book opens by showing Jordan Lacey as an unconventional and intrepid private investigator once again. This time, she has a couple of new cases in her hand. The first one is a dispute of paternity and the second one involves a mystery about a weird cross-dressing husband’s death. Both cases look quite difficult to solve initially.

Jordan Lacey carries out a series of roller-coaster investigations and unearths a lot more than she had expected. Later, she finds herself entangled in a 10-year-old unsolved case of murder. Jordan faces more difficulties and hardships when she gets taken as a hostage by a big-sized dog, poisoned by a few suspicious parsley, and engulfed by a tidal wave. Also, there is an escalation of emotional dramas in Jordan Lacey’s life when she is asked to go on a vacation by Detective Sergeant Ben Evans and DI James becomes jealous to know about it. Jordan has feelings for James in her heart and doesn’t like Ben Evans that way. But, she could not refuse Ben when he asked her out to go on holiday with him. Jordan prays that the emotional drama gets over as soon as possible so that she can focus on solving the cases at hand. Once again, Jordan appears to be a great heroine as she carries the series forward. Her astute and wry observations and the excellent writing style of author Whitelaw make this book an excellent read. The contributions from other characters are also quite noteworthy.
