About Stephanie Osborn

The American author Stephanie Osborn is well regarded due to her intelligent and imaginative science-fiction. Taking her readers on a journey, she really does have a sense of scope and scale, allowing her audience to lose themselves in her work. Highly immersive, her writing resonates with readers worldwide with her unmistakable style and approach to the craft. Letting her work ostensibly speak for itself, she provides something quite different and unique, as she really makes it her own.

Whether it’s science-fiction or mystery, or even a combination of both of them, she’s hugely versatile, proving to be extremely adaptable. Taking her work in fresh, new, and exciting directions, readers never quite know what to expect next, and this is part of her charm. Capturing the attention of her audience immediately from the outset, she holds them on the edges of their seats and doesn’t let go. Knowing precisely what she wants to say at this point, too, she delivers her work with a strong and resounding message.

Using genre fiction to say something deeper, Osborn uses many of the tropes to shape her stories into something new and unique. Never forgetting to entertain her readers either, she also makes sure to provide a sense of adventure and excitement along the way as well. Her characters are also a testament to her skills as a writer, coming alive off the page essentially and speaking in a manner that’s direct and straightforward. With so much more to come yet, she definitely won’t be finishing any time soon either, with lots more titles planned for the future.

Early and Personal Life

Born and raised with a passion for storytelling, Stephanie Osborn would also have a keen interest in science as well. Both of these interests would feed into each other, as she would use them to inform one another extensively over the years. Prior to transforming herself into a full-time writer she would work for over twenty years in the civilian space program, as well as with the International Space Station, training and preparing astronauts.

Attending higher education, she has four undergraduate degrees in the sciences, along with being a certified police officer and storm spotter. Using all of her experience to help inspire her and her writing, she draws from her wealth of experience, putting it all back into her work. Currently living in Hunstville, Alabama, she continues to work and write to this very day, with a lot more to come yet.

Writing Career

It was back in 2009 that Stephanie Osborn would begin her literary career, beginning it with the novel ‘The Y Factor.’ She would write this alongside fellow author Darrell Bain, and it would also become the first part in the ‘Cresperian’ series of novels. Largely focusing on science-fiction throughout the intervening years, she would come to write other series, such ‘Burnout’ and ‘Displaced Detective’ to name just a few.

There would also be several novellas written over the duration of her career, as she’s proven herself to be hugely versatile. Contributing to other series too, she’s become a key figure in the literary community, having produced over fifty titles to date and counting. Also known for writing non-fiction science book as well, she’s a gifted and knowledgeable author with a lot to say and offer.

Imperial Detective

Originally published in 2020, this would first come out on the 31st of July through the Kindle publishing platform. The eighth book in the ‘Empire’ series of novels, it would carry on from the previous books with another action-packed instalment. While it’s best that they’re read in order so as to gain a sense of the world-building, they can each potentially be read on their own as well.

Looking to clean up the Imperial Police based on Sintar, Nick Ashton has his work cut out for him, as the task proves to be harder than he initially thought. That’s when members who survived from the ‘old guard’ infiltrate their headquarters, and set about conspiring to kill him, along with Director Carter. Now Nick must work out who can be trusted as tensions rise across the Sintaran Empire, as he seeks to eliminate the potential conspirators. Will he manage to find them all in time though, can he do what’s required of him, and what will become of the imperial detective?

It’s a hugely entertaining book, with a lot to offer not only followers of the author, but devotees of the genre as a whole. There’s so much action running underneath throughout, making it a more than engaging story for readers to immerse themselves within. The conspiracy mystery itself constantly twists and turns too, keeping readers constantly guessing as to what’s coming next, as it’s very intriguing.

Campbell: The Sigurdsen Incident

The sixth book in the ongoing ‘Childers Universe’ series of novels, this would continue on from the previous books in the franchise. Written alongside various other authors, this can effectively be read as its own stand-alone mystery title, using the same world as before. Initially released through the Kindle publishing platform, it would first arrive on the 5th of August in 2019 to much acclaim.

Apparently under fire from all angles, Jablonka’s planetary officer Captain Mary Rao is struggling against the odds. Regardless of this, everyone from the military police at the Sigurdsen base to counter-intelligence seems to believe it to be a confluence of accidents. Now from the CSF Intelligence Division, Lieutenant William Campbell feels differently, but he doesn’t know exactly who or why. Can he discover what’s really going on, will he manage to get to the bottom of the case, and what is actually happened during the Sigurdsen Incident?

Providing a more personal instalment to the series, this offers a lot of heart and character, feeling wholly real and authentic. With an expert sense of world-building, it really makes the most of its compelling premise, providing another great inclusion in the overall series. Keeping readers glued to the page throughout, it never falters in its sense of pace and rhythm, right until its final epic conclusion.
