Jessie Donovan wrote her very first story when she was only five years of age. This was right after she discovered the Dragonriders book series by renowned author, Ann McCaffrey while in Junior High. It was at this point that Jessie Donovan realized that people wanted to read her stories. From here onwards, Jessie was more than determined to tap into an active imagination and pen a book someday later on. After residing abroad for quite some time, and in the process earning degrees in anthropology, Japanese and Secondary education, Jessie Donovan eventually buckled down and wrote her very first full-length novel. Despite the fact that her very first full-length novel is never going to see the light of day, it laid down the foundation of what would eventually become her first paranormal romance, titled the Blaze of Secrets.

In the year 2014, Jessie Donovan became a New York Times and a USA Today bestselling author. When Jessie Donovan is not traveling or working on a new novel, she can be found on Facebook interacting with her fans.

Sacrificed to the Dragon

Sacrificed to the Dragon is the first installment in the Stonefire Dragon book series. In this installment, author Jessie Donovan introduces the readers to Melanie Hall, who is more than determined to save her brother. The only way that Melanie will be able to save her brother is by offering herself as a sacrifice to the dragons. For a very long time, human beings for sport and their blood have hunted the dragons as well. Because of this, the total number of dragons is dwindling. Furthermore, they are reproducing at a faster rate to make for their reduction in numbers. In Sacrificed to the Dragon, there are compatible humans who can interact and reproduce with the dragons and Melanie is one of the few compatible human beings. Melanie is expected to be paired with a good-looking dragon man for six months. If she gets pregnant in the process, she has to stay until the baby dragon is born.

After the baby is born, Melanie will be free to leave. Once the deal is done, Melanie will be given a vial of the dragon’s life giving blood, which will be used to heal her brother. Because Melanie is more than willing to do anything for her brother, she agrees to the deal. However, will Melanie be able to put up with the dragon man? Only time will tell. With that said, all the characters in Sacrificed to the Dragons have been well developed. Melanie is a brilliant lead character. Apart from being smart, she is an individual who is more than willing to do anything for her family. The reader is going to fall in love with Melanie, because she maintains a level head, even when she was stepping into the dragon’s den. The reader is also going to appreciate the fact that Melanie is willing to give up her life and everything she has built to save her brother’s life.

Seducing the Dragon

Seducing the Dragon begins as one Evie Marshall, an inspector who works for the Department of Dragon Affairs is on her first visit to the clan Stonefire. However, Evie Marshall has an ulterior motive, which is to seduce the head of the clan. If Evie Marshall is not able to seduce him and make him his mate, then the dragon hunters are going to kill Evie. Despite everything that she is expected to accomplish, Evie does not know anything about seducing a man, or a dragon shifter in this case. However, her life is on the line. Thus, Evie has to be a fast learner because her life is on the line. Bram has a track record of intimidating DDA inspectors. When the latest inspector shows up wearing a sexy smile and tight cloths, Bram’s inner dragon takes notice. While trying to fight off his human attraction, Bram eventually has to make a much harder choice. Bram can either break the law and get romantically involved with a human being and in the process risk a backlash from the British government and the dragon hunters or he can send the lady away and let her die at the hands of the dragon hunters.

To win the favor of the other people, Bram and Evie must unite. By the end of the first book, Evie and Bram are into each other that they even begin a romantic relationship. To solve the death of Caitriona, Evie has made up his mind that Bram requires her help to solve the crime. Evie is introduced to Nikki, a female dragon protector. From time to time, Evie loves to bargain with the dragons and be able to get what she wants. Evie was looking forth to meet with Melanie. Thus she concludes her conversation with the Scottish Lochguard clan. Bram sees Melanie off the door and takes a glance for the first time at what Evie was wearing. Bram immediately feels possessive, and his dragon immediately wants to claim her. The two begin to argue about Evie’s clothing. It does not take long before the leader of the Lochguard clan, Finn Stewart comes forth and introduces himself. Bram’s dragon adds more intrigue to the novel and their relationship as he is not only keeping secrets but he is more than determined to mate with Elvie.

By keeping secrets to himself, Bram causes more arguments with his dragon. As the hunters continue to cause havoc, there is never a dull moment in the book. Apart from the abduction of a baby dragon, there is also some political heat among the clans. With that said, Seducing the Dragon features well-written scenes and the details paint exceedingly vivid images which not only capture the imagination of the readers but also bring the story to life. The excitement and well-orchestrated suspense ensures that the readers will continue reading once they pick up the book. With that said, author Jessie Donovan has once again delivered a well written novel that will capture the reader’s attention from the first page to the last.
