Sue Coletta is an American crime, thriller, and mystery author originally from Marblehead Massachusetts though she now lives in Alexandria, New Hampshire. The bestselling author is a member of International Thriller Writers, Sisters in Crime, and Mystery Writers of America. She is best known as the author of the “Mayhem and Grafton County” series of novels. Coletta is also the author of “Susan Stoker’s World” a crossover of the Mayhem series. She is also a true crime author for a division of Rowman Littlefield Group. She has also published flash fiction and short stories in “Flash Fiction Offensive Magazine” alongside several other collections and some of her forensic pieces have been featured in “InSinc Quarterly.” Her “Murder Blog” has for four years been named in the Top 100 Crime Blog Award. Coletta also works as a communications manager for “Serial Killer Project” and “Forensic Science” both of which were founded by Joe Giacalone the Detective Sergeant and cold case expert.

Coletta has always written in one form or another and as a hormonal preteen, she often found comfort putting words on paper. If something was bothering her, she would often pen a letter to her parents and slip it under their bedroom door. As such, writing made it possible to share her emotions, feelings, and thoughts as a preteen. The letters often prompted conversations that became supportive and loving talks between daughter and mother. When she was in her twenties, she started penning children’s fiction since she wanted to say things to a boyfriend or friend and found the characters expressed it better. This would develop into a love for crime fiction writing as she loved delving into the minds of a killer and analyzing the psychology that made them who they are. Some of the authors she loved reading include Lisa Gardner, Katia Lief, Roy and Iris Johansen, and James Patterson among many others. As a young aspiring author, she was fascinated by how authors mesmerized with their prose which felt like magic and made her dream of becoming an author. However, she would pivot and work as a paralegal and cosmetologist while writing took a backseat. It was only after she finally shut down her hair salon that she wrote her first unpublished novel that she titled “A Strangled Rose.” Later on, she decided to study, research, and learn more about criminology, forensic psychology, and forensic science at the Writers’ Police Academy. It is there that she learned a lot about hands-on and intensive investigation techniques that she employs in her novels.

Since Sue Coletta is now an established author with seven critically acclaimed titles to her name, she offers help to aspiring authors through several media online. She is the founder of #ACrimeChat on Twitter, where police captains, corners, and detectives provide tips to writers. Every alternate Monday, she posts tips on “Kill Zone” the award-winning blog where critically acclaimed writers usually congregate. For her fans, Sue has her “Crime Lover’s Lounge,” where she provides inside access to deleted chapters and scenes, runs contests, and free giveaways. She currently lives with her husband Bob, their two crows Edgar and Poe, a chipmunk named Hip, and Shawnee the squirrel.

In “Wings of Mayhem,” Shawnee Daniels is introduced as the cat burglar had always believed that being fearless was the key to staying out of jail. When she hacks into an important hard drive the Revere Police Division had confiscated, she focuses all her attention on embezzlement and other white-collar crimes. To teach Jack the burglar a lesson and recover the money he had stolen, she manages to get into Bear Claves Estates and breaks into his house. She thought she had done a clean job until he starts taunting her. He takes over her screen and keeps flashing a glowing eagle on her Skype telling her he wants his precious trophy box back. Stalked by the psychotic criminal, it does not take much convincing to get her to agree to date Lavaughn Samuels a very charismatic detective. Her policy had been to\ never date law enforcement but she believes that dating the detective may just scare off the psychotic stalker. Shawnee now has to juggle keeping her best friend happy while dating the lead detective on her case, even as the stalker seems to be unperturbed by the detective. If she cannot find the killer’s property, he has promised to come for her. She needs to do something before she loses everything.

“Blessed Mayhem” by Sue Coletta introduces a Mr. Mayhem that is nothing like the ordinary serial killer. He is reminiscent of Hannibal Lecter though he is not a cannibal as he deems eating human flesh as just barbaric. He usually comes onto the scene with zest, elegance, and style unlike any other. He has impeccable manners as he believes that being a killer does not give him a license to be impolite. Accompanied by Edgar, Allan, and Poe his faithful crow friends, he strikes fear in the minds and hearts of the people of Massachusetts North Shore. When Shawnee the forensic hacker and extraordinary cat burglar bumps into him at night, he becomes curious about her. Unfortunately, he leaves behind something that maybe should not have been discovered and she does not know if it was done intentionally or it was serendipity. He wants to know all about her including her witty banter, tough girl routine, and why she acts the way she does. He has planned some of the most impressive killings in the history of the county but Shawnee Daniels is a wrinkle that may just stop his coup de grace.

Sue Coletta’s “Silent Mayhem” is a thrilling story that asserts that while some things may be incomprehensible, that does not mean that they are not as real. A familiar crow had come out of the sky and dropped a cryptic scroll at Daniel Shawnee’s feet. It is very strange and everything in her screams at her not to open it but she cannot help it. The message is from Mr. Mayhem, the most deranged killer in the history of the North Shore and he says her life is in danger. He had threatened to kill everyone she held dear just a year past but now says all he wants is to help her. While the man taunts her with bizarre deliveries of feathers similar to what “The Creator” serial killer left at his scenes of crime, New Hampshire and Massachusetts are rocked by a killing spree. A psycho is decapitating women and men and dumping the corpses on the beaches. But what happens next is sure to destroy everything Shawnee has ever known including her history and her memories. Will she be able to handle the truth and move forward or will she be destroyed?
