Kissed by Darkness is the first book in the Sunwalker Saga series. The book features Morgan Bailey, a sassy vampire hunter with unique abilities. It has been three years since Morgan survived an attack by vampires. The attack didn’t leave her the same. Morgan realized soon after that she had heightened senses, which included an uncanny speed and an ability to see in the dark. Since the day of the attack, Morgan had not met a demon or a vampire that she could kill. This is all until she meets Jack, the sunwalker. Her new client, a creepy guy, hires Morgan to track the sunwalker he believes stole his priceless amulet. Even though the sunwalkers are classified among the most powerful vampires, Morgan thinks that she has the power to defeat him.

Everything doesn’t go as planned as the sunwalker ends up hunting Morgan down. Jack is not anything like Morgan imagined. He is cunning, charming, and oh, so gorgeous. However, Morgan cannot let her guard down as she knows how dangerous he is. The more Morgan interacts with Jack, the more she discovers about the priceless jewel and why her client is so keen to have it. It turns out her client isn’t the owner, after all. Morgan also discovers that the sunwalker has an ancient secret that could destroy the human world. Her mission has to change, and she has to step up and do her part to save humankind. Can Morgan and her newfound friend manage to stop those who are after the ancient secret?

This captivating story will hold your attention from the first page. You will love a lot in this book, from the kick-ass protagonist to the well-developed plot. Morgan is easy to love, and despite her misgivings, you cannot help but wish her the best in her endeavors. Kissed by Fire is the second of the Sunwalker Saga series. Morgan is yet on another adventure after completing her mission in the previous book. In this book, Morgan will be going to London to deal with a monster she has not encountered before. Kabita is Morgan’s boss and best friend. After hearing that her cousin was murdered by a creature that was thought to be extinct, Morgan offers to accompany Kabita to help her unravel her cousin’s death. However, Morgan also hopes to track the vampire who attacked her and left her with special powers. There is growing Darkness that she cannot understand, and Morgan feels that meeting the vampire again would make everything clear.

Once in London, Morgan encounters something that she never thought she would ever see, dragons. If the dragons start attacking humankind, Morgan and Kabita know that things can quickly get out of hand. Morgan knows that she has a chance to prevent carnage in case the dragons are released, but she first needs to confront the truth about the past. Join Morgan as she continues to show her vampire-slaying powers. She does make a few mistakes, but she sure is a superhero. We will also see more of Jack, and it is interesting how his relationship with Morgan changes in this book.

While not much is written about the dragons and their histories, it is exciting meeting them and knowing what they can do not handled with care. It is normal to get curious about the relationship between the sunwalkers and the Knights Templar, and hope this will be answered in subsequent books. The trip to London ends up revealing more than Morgan anticipated. She gets to meet a relative who can shed some more light on her past. The surprises about Morgan and her past are sure to shock you as more details about her growing Darkness are revealed. Kabita also has to deal with her father, and it is fun meeting her family. The new cast brings a lot of character to the story, and it is exciting getting to know the older ones better.

Kissed by Fire is a worthy follow up in this series. The book answers some of the questions left unanswered in the first book awhile taking you deeper into Morgan’s life. Set in London, this book welcomes you into the world of dragons that add to the human race threats. The pace stays consistent throughout the story, and the rising tension will keep you turning the pages to the end. What mischief will Morgan be involved in this time around?
