She never tried writing again until decades later when she was in her sixties. This time, she was inspired by her husband’s retirement and went on to publish
“The Secrets on Forest Bend” which she published in 2012 would go on to become hugely successful as it won several awards.

Muller has two grown children that have given her four grandchildren. When her late husband was still around, they loved to travel and as such she has been all over the world. Some of the places that she has been to include the Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, and Kenya.

When he died, she thought she could not bear traveling without him but the traveling bug refused to go away. Since then she has been to Venezuela, Argentina and Brazil. She currently makes her home in Texas in the small town of Spring.

She is an active member of the Romance Writers of America Northwest Houston chapter, the West Houston RWA, and Kiss of Death RWA. She is also a volunteer at a local hospital which is something that she has been doing for the past three decades.

“Winter Song” by Susan C. Miller introduces Noah Daugherty, a Houston Homicide detective, and Connor Crawford his partner. Noah recently lost his wife that was killed in a traffic accident while his wife’s partner is heavily pregnant with their first kid.

Noah is struggling to deal with his loss, which means he has no time to help their dog with its own grief. Connor and Noah are working on the case of Crystal Hudson a beautiful socialite that had been murdered while heading home from her yoga class.

The detectives believe the husband had something to do with it but he cannot have been solely responsible. When they start investigating, Noah is introduced to Laurel who was the dead socialite’s neighbor. She is currently working through a divorce and is stressed as her husband seems to have the upper hand.
It seems Crystal her friend had been in a similar situation and had confronted her husband. This is some useful information that Noah thinks could shed more light on the circumstances before the murder.

Connor and Noah are on the trail of an extremely intelligent and amoral killer who experience tells them is very young. When the killer believes that Noah may be onto him, he comes after him and his dog.

Susan C. Muller’s novel “Spring Shadow” is an intoxicating novel that continues to follow the life and times of detective Noah. He prefers the complex cases but when his boss tells him to go see him, he immediately knows that there is something crazy afoot or he is in trouble.

He is informed that he is to be the bodyguard of a country singer who is coming to town. She had received some very real death threats and decided to leave her home and go into hiding. Noah did not like the idea until he is informed that he will be working as part of her band undercover.

He likes performing and this could not be a more enjoyable opportunity. Paige has recently become very famous and hesitated when she got the death threats. She does not want to be showy and having a bodyguard is unpalatable.

But the threats are very real and she finally relented and went to the cops. The two do not get off to a good start, as they are not too fond of each other until Paige learns that he can play and sing. Maybe he is not that bad and if he keeps his distance maybe she could come to like him even more.

Will they be able to get along or will the uncovering of Paige’s secrets be the death knell of their blossoming romance?

“Summer Storm” by Susan C. Muller opens with the murder of a CEO which gets complicated when the suspects keep turning up dead. The dead woman is a health food company CEO who was discovered dead in her hot tub.

The list of suspects that Noah Daughterty compiles is full of powerful people that may blow his career into smithereens if they discover he is investigating them.

But the biggest issue is that every person that Noah interviews seem to have a very good motive for taking out the CEO.

But each interviewee turns up dead a few days after talking to him. As a huge hurricane threatens to engulf the city, he scrambles to get all the pieces in a company-wide mystery that could explain the CEO’s murder.

Exposing the truth could be the only way to resolve the mystery but it could just cost Noah his job.
It makes for a heart-pounding story full of twists and turns and three-dimensional characters.
