Susan Fox Best Books
The Bad Penny
Author Susan Fox has a unique ability to bring out the best in the characters that she creates. In The Bad Penny, author Susan Fox introduces the readers to Ethan Maggie. The readers will be involved with Ethan and Maggie, such that there are instances when the readers will find themselves laughing, crying and even cursing. The book begins as Maggie is released out of prison. The sad part was that Maggie served a sentence, despite the fact that she was innocent. Maggie begins to look for a job with only 50 dollars in her pockets. Her attorney had promised Maggy that she was going to organize for her, a two-week trial on her brother’s ranch. It is at this point that author, Susan Fox introduces the readers to Ethan. After getting to know, the reasons why Maggy was incarcerated, Ethan decides to kick her out of the ranch considering the fact that she was involved in cattle rustling.
However, after some time, Ethan decides to bring her back into the ranch. However, despite the fact the fact that Ethan allows Maggy to stay at the ranch, he tells himself that he is never going to trust her, especially because of her past. Maggie, on the other hand, is more than happy to have a second shot at life and a full-time job. Author Susan Fox has done an excellent job of clearly portraying how Maggie came to terms with her release and also the new role that she is presented.
Vows of the Heart
Vows of the Heart is another highly entertaining novel, by author Susan Fox. In Vows of the Heart, author Susan Fox introduces the readers to Veronica. Ever since Veronica was young, she has always been a rebellious teenager, especially after her mother got married to one Hank Chapman. However, when he got to know Veronica, her stepfather realized that Veronica had been loved starved for such a long time. Thus, he decided to give her discipline, guidance, and affection patiently. Cole, Hanks son, was the complete opposite of Veronica. Cole could not tolerate Veronica’s presence and many at times Cole did not fail to show her. When her mother finally decided that it was high time to look for a younger man, Ronnie had no option but to go with her mother. However, the bond that Veronica shared with Hank remained intact and ever since then, they maintained their communication.
However, several years later, Hank developed a heart disorder, which in turn prevents him from attending Ronnie’s wedding. Nonetheless, a day before the wedding Ronnie and her husband to be are involved in a car accident. While Ronnie’s body was damaged pretty bad in the accident, Hank’s body decided to give up his. Due to the fact that Ronnie was still in the hospital, she had no idea that Hank had passed away. Thus, she made a promise to herself when she gets out of the hospital; she will do all she can to ensure that she goes and sees him. Immediately Ronnie left Rehab; she left to Wyoming. Upon arrival, Ronnie learned that Hank had succumbed. Being the father to her 7-year old son and running the ranch are just some of the responsibilities that Cole is more than determined to take up. Despite the fact that Cole and Ronnie have had bitter arguments in the past, one being the fact that Ronnie had led to his most prized stallion escaping Cole still decides to overlook them.
Ever since the incidence, Ronnie informed Cole that she had latched the gate. Once the two met, Cole realized that Ronnie needed a place to rest for a while and thus, he suggested that she can stay in his residence for quite some time. Due to the fact that the ranch does not have a permanent cook, Cole and his friends struggle with the cooking and many at times are forced to cook in turns. When Ronnie makes it open that she loves to cook, Cole decides to offer her the opportunity, until he can find someone permanent for the job. As Cole eventually comes to realize that, maybe his previous harsh judgments might have been wrong. With that said, Vows of the Heart is Susan Fox’s debut novel. Apart from being an emotionally intense love story, Vows of the Heart features Susan Fox’s signature writing style; tragic heroines who are normally cruelly misjudged by the various heroes in the novels.
Despite the fact that Ronnie is an extremely strong woman, she is still physically and emotionally wounded from her husband abandonment and her accident. Cole, on the other hand, is a man who has so many facets. Despite the fact that Cole did not truly understand Hank’s fondness for Ronnie, he still came into terms that Ronnie had a place in his father’s heart. When he comes to discover, the seriousness of Ronnie’s pain with her very past and also the fact that he played a key role in what she went through. With that said, Vows of the Heart is a deep and intense novel, that will definitely take the readers on an emotional rollercoaster. All the main characters in Vows of the Heart, have their share of grief and to move forward, they have to work through their differences and overcome the past.
