Susan Page Davis is an American author of fiction. She’s been able to pen a remarkable amount of novels in her time writing. Since her debut novel Protecting Amy was released in 2004 as part of the popular Wyoming Brides series, she has been able to write over 30 novels and several short stories to add to various collections. She is the winner of the Carol Award for her writing as well as the recipient of the Inspirational Readers’ Choice Award.
She was once a Maine native, which gives her plenty of experience as well as material to write her future books. She is the author of the Maine Brides series, a selection of romance novels that begins with The Prisoner’s Wife and ends with The Lumberjack’s Lady in 2007. Susan Page Davis currently lives in Kentucky with Jim, her husband. He works in the writing field too as a freelance editor, so it’s the perfect match. Two of their children live there as well and they are parents to six and grandparents to six as well, although that number could always change.
The setting is also Maine for her murder mystery series written by fellow talented author Megan Elaine Davis. It starts with the 2008 novel Homicide at Blue Heron Lake and ends the trilogy with Impostors at Blue Heron Lake. There was a collection released of the series in 2010.
Maine Justice is Page Davis’ third batch of novels inspired and set in this natural and wild state called “Vacationland” by the locals and tourists alike. This series has the most novels out of any she has penned so far, with six adventure-packed books making up this enticing murder mystery series set in the one state you’d expect to be pretty quiet. It’s New England crime scenes among the pine trees in this heart-pounding set of novels!
The omnibus collection came out in 2008 and contains all of the three novels in this trilogy. She also wrote the third book in the Virginia Brides series, which is called Weaving a Future. It was released in 2006. There is also the Wyoming Brides series, which features three books in total in the series. There was a Wyoming Brides collection released in 2008. The Ladies Shooting Club is a series that has four books in it and a boxed collection that came out in 2011.
Susan Page Davis is also the author of the Frasier Island series. There are three books in this series. She has contributed to the Alaska Wedding series, the Mail-Order Christmas Angels series, Hearts of Oak series, and more. Page Davis penned many more books and series on her own, such as the Prairie Dreams series, and the exciting Tea Lin Lane Romance series. A collection came out shortly after the last book.
She has written several standalone novels on her own, from Feather in 2006 to Abiding Peace in 2008 to Almost Arizona in 2012 and Her Father’s Blessing in 2017. There are countless others that she has written and she has contributed to nearly too many collections to count, from the winter wonderland romance-themed Snowbound Colorado Christmas, The New England Romance Collection, the Love in Danger collection, the Heart of a Cowboy collection, and The Captive Brides collection, to name a few of the many that are out there!
Susan Page Davis has also written two novellas. She has contributed to the Love Finds You series, the Texas Trail series, Celebrate Any Time, The 12 Brides of Christmas (and Summer), the Frontier Hearts series, and more.
Protecting Amy is the first book in the Wyoming Brides series. The main character is the confident Tom Barkley. He never usually focuses on women at all. Some guys just obsess over women and sex, but Tom isn’t like that. He just does what he has to do and doesn’t spend too much time thinking about the opposite gender.
All of that quickly changes when the Fort Bridger is faced with the threat of being attacked. An experienced scout, Barkley is assigned the job of escorting the daughter of the commander all the way to Fort Laramie, where they know that she can be safe. At first, Tom thinks that he is going to be charged with protecting a delicate young woman. But he soon starts to realize that Amy Travis is a young woman that is not only spirited but capable too.
It was Tom’s job to protect Amy. But it turns out that his charge is just as good on a horse as he is. She’s going to be able to make the four day trip to the fort, he’s convinced of it. Tom is starting to learn more about this woman, and before he knows it, he’s slowly falling for her. Maybe his heart is more on the line than he knows. But is his investment going to make him better at protecting her, or worse at it?
Maybe the last thing that Tom needs is to get involved. Before they know it, there are three riders pursuing them. Tom starts to worry and has to set aside any feelings he ever had to objectively make sure that Amy is safe. He might just have a chance at keeping her safe– but does his own heart have the same shot at protection? Or will it be blown to smithereens? The Oregon Escort is the first book in Susan Page Davis’s series, Wyoming Brides. The main character in this fun romance novel is Lydia Jackson. Her aunt dies one day and leaves her with absolutely nothing. So she decides to go take a teaching position in Oregon City, heading there on a wagon train. She’s actually glad that she did because Lydia really likes the cavalry officer that is starting to seem like he likes her.
However, Lydia feels burdened by her obligations. She turns down the man in the wagon train escort. His name is Corporal Mike Brown. Assigned to guide the train safely while it travels through the frontier by the United States military. Maybe he’s up to the task, but he still hasn’t gotten over losing his child and his wife. Why not ride the train while he tries to heal?
It’s the last thing that the Corporal ever expected to fall for someone. He is inexplicably attracted to the beautiful Lydia Jackson. She seems sent from up above to help him heal.
