Susan Sands is a best-selling romance fiction novelist who began writing on her fortieth birthday. This means she is what many would refer to as a late bloomer in the industry.
Eight years later, she published “Again, Alabama,” her debut novelist and the first of the “Alabama” series of novels.

Sands has now published more than ten titles across several series and has even contributed to the “Cherry Creek Holiday Romance” series of novels.

She has now become known for writing small-town romantic fun, and humorous novels filled with big family love.

Aside from her writing, Susan Sands has three adult children and lives in Roswell, Georgia alongside her dentist husband.

Susan has an elementary education degree and is a member of the Broadleaf Writers, Association, the Georgia Romance Writers, the Women’s Fiction Writers of America, the Atlanta Writers Club, and the Romance Writers of America.
She is also a frequent participant in writer conferences, book clubs, and book festivals. Susan also won the Georgia Author of the Year Ward in the romance category in 2017.

When she is not writing her novels, she can usually be found painting, cooking, and when she is in the mood, playing tennis and making the plots and characters for her next novel in her head.

Sands grew up in the small town of Northwest Louisiana named Negreet near Texas, surrounded by her family. She remembers riding dirtbikes with her siblings to go visit friends’ houses given that bicycles could not handle the terrain.
Given that there was hardly anything to do but read, she got into books very early on, reading comics, then Nancy Drew, and ultimately Harlequin romances.

As such, it was growing up in small-town Louisiana that sparked her love for reading which would eventually make her into a writer.

During her college years, she remembers when “Steel Magnolias” was filmed in Natchitoches, her college town when she was in her senior year. The crew took over the campus and pretty much everything and she had a lot of fun.
It was from all these experiences that she began thinking that maybe she could build a career as a fiction author.

Ultimately, more practical pursuits took over as after graduation, she decided to teach elementary school and it would take several decades before she circled around and became a published author.

Just like many authors, Susan Sands had quite a long journey toward becoming an author. Her interest in becoming a published author was reawakened when she attended a West Coast writers’ conference.
During this time, she had been writing the manuscript for “Home to Cypress Bayou” which had 15000 words at the time.

At the conference, she learned everything about pitching, talked to editors and agents, and was lucky to find an agent interested in her novel.

She was surprised when the agent read her manuscript and immediately offered to represent her. But she went nowhere with her agent who could not get her a book deal even after writing several other manuscripts.
After breaking up with her agent, attending classes on how to write and pitch, and numerous rejections and rewrites she finally published her debut in 2015.

“Again, Alabama” by Susan Sands is a thrilling story that tells of Cammie Laroux, who finds herself back in Alabama.

She is back in her hometown to take care of her mother who is recovering from surgery and while at it rescue the family event planning business. She believes this should be an easy thing to do but it is never easy, even for a disgraced TV chef.
Cammie soon realizes that her family has been hiding the fact that their historic home is on the verge of collapse.

Grey Harrison the man charged with restoring it is the same college and high school love of her life that had dashed her dreams and broken her heart about a decade back.

The man is now a widower with a young daughter and says he never stopped loving Cammie. Things are made worse by the fact that they have off-the-charts chemistry when they come face to face.
Grey does not believe in letting go, even if renovating their love and winning Cammie’s forgiveness looks like a long shot, even for a carpenter and architect.

It is not long before she begins forgetting why she cannot love again or trust Grey, while he remembers all the reasons to make her stay in Alabama with him.

Susan Sands’ novel Love, Alabama is a work that introduces former Miss Alabama Emma Laroux who now works as a pageantry coach and could not be happier with her life.
She thinks she is cursed when it comes to dating but does not care since she has her family, home, business, and health for comfort.

When her sister is offered the chance to host a reality cooking show, Emma takes some time off to help her out, only to find herself clashing with the producer of the show.

Matthew Pope is in Ministry, Alabama to produce the show but believes it is karma for his past sins. He does not intend to submit to the southern charm of the small town, as he still has memories of his own hometown a few miles down the road.
To make it worse, Emma Laroux has a tendency to bring back many of those memories. Fortunately, Emma and Matthew come to an understanding and she starts thinking that maybe she has put the curse behind her.
They soon begin falling for each other but what they never counted on was Tad Beaumont her ex coming back and throwing a spanner into the works.

“Forever, Alabama” by Susan Sands is the story of Ben Laroux, the golden boy from Ministry.

He will always do whatever he can to help anyone who needs his assistance. After losing the only woman he ever loved to his best friend, he has sworn off relationships and never goes out with any woman for more than two dates.
He wants to provide everyone the benefit of being with him but also intends to show them that he will not be settling down any time soon.

Sabine O’Connor has been living in Ministry for several years working as a therapist.

She has helped many in the Laroux family but also many other women in town who have gone on dates with Ben and talked of how he broke their hearts and how wonderful he is.

Ben is intrigued by Sabine but he can never understand why she dislikes him so much. When he finally convinces her to date him, she realizes how clueless he is about how he affects his dates.
Sabine is fast falling for Ben but secrets from the past threaten their fledgling relationship even before it has taken off.
