Susan Sleeman is an American author of more than forty novels. She has sold over a million books in her career. Her writing focuses on romantic suspense novels that are clean and feature inspiring messages of faith. She is the author of the Nighthawk Security series, the Cold Harbor series, the Truth Seekers series, and the First Responders series.
Sleeman grew up in a small town in Wisconsin where she developed a love of reading at a young age. She enjoyed the Nancy Drew books and other mystery and suspense novels. She is very passionate about the genre and even runs a website called TheSuspenseZone.com. Writing has taken over her life in a way as she often finds herself looking at everyday situations and trying to figure out how to turn them into a murder scenario. She even goes so far as to imagine how she will kill the people she meets, but she assures that she would never act on that.
Susan now makes her home in Oregon after living in nine other states in her life. She is married and has two children with her husband. Her husband is a retired church music director. When she’s not writing, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her grandchild. Susan attended FBI and local police citizen academies which has helped in her writing.
Tough as Steele is the first book in the Steele Guardians series. Londyn Steele is a detective who is on a huge case as a socialite has been abducted. Things are a bit complicated for her as her family’s company, Steele Guardians, was hired to protect her. Londyn is worried that her investigation might expose problems in her family’s company. Making matters worse, County Detective Nate Ryder has taken jurisdiction over the scene which puts Londyn in the backseat of the investigation. She has no choice but to work with him and the two form an alliance to try and find the girl as fast as possible. The two are attracted to one another and have trouble fighting against it. They worry that the socialite may have been murdered and they killer is still on the loose, looking to strike again.
The White Knights series begins with Fatal Mistake. Tara Parrish is the only person to ever survive an attack by the Lone Wolf bomber, but the experience has left her scared and emotionally scarred. She decides to go into hiding to survive because she knows that he is coming after her to finish the job. Agent Cal Riggins has been on the trail of the Lone Wolf bomber for the past six months. He’s getting close, but if he wants to find her he needs the help of Tara Parrish. He tries to find her and when he does, he realizes that her hiding place isn’t good enough. Now, he must protect her while resisting the attraction between them. With the Lone Wolf out there, even one wrong move could lead to death.
Holiday Secrets is the first book in the McKade Law series. FBI agent Gavin McKade is put into action when his ex is in the crosshairs of a deadly crime syndicate. He will do whatever it takes to protect and that means working the case with his sheriff father. Gavin returns home for the holidays and things aren’t warm and fuzzy, but they must put aside any familial differences if he is to keep Lexie safe. The unlikely reunion between the two leads to the rekindling of all feelings, but that will need to come later because if he can’t keep her safe this could be their last Christmas ever.
The Truth Seekers series begins with Dead Ringer. A local woman goes missing which leads Sheriff Blake Jenkins to DNA expert Emory Steele. He needs Emory to analyze the blood sample, but then realizes that Emory is a dead ringer for the missing woman he is trying to find. He believes that the two must be related, but Emory does not believe it. She’ll end up getting a DNA test herself which reveals that she does in fact have a twin sister. Now, she’ll do anything to find her and teams up with Blake to find her. An attempt is then made to abduct Emory as well which leads them to believe this must have something to do with the woman’s birth parents. Blake vows to keep her safe and bring whoever is doing this to justice.
The Homeland Heroes series begins with Seconds to Live. Cyber criminals have hacked into the US Marshals’ Witness Protection database and auctioned off the information to the highest bidders. This is a major leak and now FBI Agent Sean Nichols is on the hunt for the hacker. Before the search can even begin, the first witness is targeted and barely escapes with her life. Sean thinks the hacker Phantom is behind the attack and seeks help from the witness to find them. That will get complicated though as the witness is under the protection of US Marshal Taylor Mills, the captivating marshal who knows his deepest secrets. The two will need to learn to put the past behind and trust each other if they want to find the hacker and keep the witness safe.
Night Fall is the first book in the Nighthawk Security series. Harper Young is an Olympic downhill skier who knows what it is like to deal with pressure and danger. She’s the daughter of a governor and is used to receiving threats from the public. However, when a stalker sets his sights on her, she is unprepared to protect herself. This brings in Aiden Byrd of Nighthawk Security who knows all about protection. He’s a professional, but he’s finding it hard to stay professional in this job as the attraction between him and Harper is so strong. The stalker grows bolder and Aiden will need to put his feelings aside if he wants to do his job and keep her safe.
I love all your books. I love mystery and spies but not necessarily all the gory stuff and love the Christian background in the characters in your books. I have read about 15 books in the last 6 weeks and can’t wait to continue them.
