Lani Lynn Vale is a published American author.

Lani is married to her high school sweetheart, who is the love of her life. She says that the reason that she fell in love with him was the fact that he had on baseball pants at the time. It’s been over a decade since then, and the two share three children together. They also share Demon, their cat that Lani says loves to wake her up at all hours of the night. The family resides in Texas, which she says is the greatest state in the world.

Lani today writes romantic and contemporary suspense stories, and really loves all things that have to do with romance. Lani Lynn Vale can often be found perched in front of her computer, lost in the world of her fictional characters and writing away. She usually does this until her kids and husband want food and drink!

Just Kidding is the first book in the SWAT Generation 2.0 series by Lani Lynn Vale. If you love a good romance, be sure to check this book out!

When it comes to doing a calendar, what could go wrong? Main character Dax Tremaine never thought that doing a calendar would cause him so many problems. They promised him that doing the calendar would be fun, but they were just looking out for themselves and trying to get another guy to sign on for the calendar. They didn’t have any idea what they were talking about, and now look what’s happened.

Dax Tremaine knew that the public relations specialists for the Kilgore Police Department had to be wrong, and now he’s got the proof. Everyone saw the calendar, and now he’s not having fun anymore. He’s reminded of the calendar wherever he goes. It seems like all of the women living in Kilgore, Texas have seen the calendar and can’t get it out of their head. On top of this, they definitely aren’t holding it back when calling him out for it, referring to him out loud as ‘Mr. January’.

Dax Tremaine may have graced the calendar, but he didn’t account for the women of the town referring to him as his first month name wherever he went. But it seems that that is exactly what is happening. Everywhere that he goes, the women of the town do not give him a chance to forget that he did the calendar. The officer is getting tired of it but has to take it all in stride. Even if they do refer to him as Mr. January when they ask him to help fix a flat tire or even more inappropriate requests, like getting cuffed or having their boob signed.

Dax doesn’t know what to do about it anymore. It may not be the worst situation in the world, but it’s far from being the most desirable. The Kilgore, Texas area has simply transformed to one where he’s being called Mr. January all of the time by the women there. It goes from being a bad situation to being a worse one when Tremaine goes on a SWAT call and even then, the women cannot stay away.

Perhaps they saw something they liked in the calendar, or perhaps they’re just lonely. Either way, Dax really wishes that it would stop. He would love nothing more than to not be Mr. January in their eyes anymore and stop hearing about it as it really is getting old.

Meanwhile, there’s Rowen Roberts. This pretty and driven young woman is going through a tough time in her life, maybe the worst she’s ever been through. She had at last admitted the truth to herself about a certain situation, that a man that she was in love with is not likely to ever return her feelings. She has to accept that he’s just not ever going to love her back.

Things have gotten worse because she was let go from her job for apparently violating client confidentiality. Things get even worse for the young woman when she goes to the convenience store to grab a snack and ends up being held up at gunpoint by a gunman that is there at the same time. It’s unfortunate, especially since she was just popping in there quickly to try and get some ice cream so that she could just have something good instead of feeling all the pain and angst from being let go from her job and from her messy romantic life.

When that gun gets put to her head, Rowen knows that she’s got to make a choice. She can do what the gunman says or put up a fight and go down swinging. Then Mr. January, a.k.a. Dax, shows up and instructs her to do what the gunman says. However, Rowen’s had enough. She’s not one to do what she’s instructed, and she might not follow the rules this time. Can she save her own skin without needing a man to do it for her? Read this first book in the series to find out!

Fries Before Guys is the second book in the SWAT Generation 2.0 series by Lani Lynn Vale. If you love a good romance, check out this sequel that comes with all new characters!

When you meet someone you connect with, sometimes it’s enough to make your heart skip a beat. Avery Flynn feels this way once she meets SWAT Officer Derek Roberts. The Kilgore Police Department cop first came onto her radar when she was photographing him. The shoot was for the first annual Kilgore Police Department SWAT calendar, and he was Mr. February.

Derek has perched in his car without a shirt on, giving a heart-melting smile that seemed to hint at all manner of romantic possibilities. She was so taken by him that Avery asked him out once the photoshoot was done. Imagine her surprise when Derek actually laughed in her face!

He hadn’t really felt that way about her, seeing her as someone who was there to do the shoot but also dressed like a teen girl. She was wearing leggings, Chuck shoes, and a loose Star Trek t-shirt that said she was a Klingon captain. It hadn’t left that much of an impression on him, to be honest.

However, his attention was captured when he saw her weeks later after turning her down in a totally different outfit. It’s unfortunate that it’s happening while he’s trying to save her from a Texan who thinks that she’s the reason why he lost a chance at a million. But will she be too stubborn to let him save her? Read this book to find out!
