No one ever celebrated Heroism like T.A. Baron. From his earliest writing to now, all works of T. A. Barron are full of heroism and his works celebrate the spirit of Heroism. He is the creator of the series “The Lost Years of Merlin”. When he was in Oxford University as a student, he began exploring the universe of fantasy and started celebrating heroism. It can be said that no one ever cherished and celebrated heroism like T.A. Baron and it can be seen throughout his works.

He has only two passions, heroism and environment. He founded the environmental department in the Princeton University. He is a board member of Princeton University and spearheads all the environmental efforts of the University.

The amount of passion in his writings is same as the passion he shows in his real life for both heroism and environment. He believes in absolute power of nature and the mysterious ways in which the nature works.

Early and Personal Life

Thomas Archibald Barron was born on 26 Mar, 1952 in Boston. He was the son of Archibald who was a hotel operator and Gloria who was a Geologist and Museum founder. He was happily married to Currie Cabot and had five children. He received his B.A. degree in 1974 from Princeton University and got an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1982. He celebrates life as it comes, when asked which sport he likes the most, he replied the one he can play with his kids.

Writing Career

He began his writing career with his early writings in Oxford University. But his first renowned publication was in the year 1990, when his book “Heartlight” was published. He writes very close in two genres, he celebrates the spirit of heroism and believes in nature.

His writings are for teenagers, young adults and for those who celebrate the spirit of Heroism and Hope. His works reflect the mystical ways by which the nature controls us. He is an environmentalist and it is reflected throughout his writings.

His books are mainly in three series, the Merlin Saga, The Heartlight Saga and the Atlantis Saga. These books have always kept the spirit of heroism and nature throughout their content.

He was the recipient of the de Grummond Medallion in 2011 for lifetime contribution to the field of children’s and young adult literature. He has received many awards for his various books including the USA Book Awards, Colarado Book Awards, American Library Association and many other awards.

His one of the most celebrated achievements was that he made it to the New York Times Bestseller list several times in his career. Being a bestseller is not an easy milestone, the book has to compete with other books all around the world and prove its metal to secure the highest number of readers.

He is also a great philanthropist and he does some really big contributions towards the environmental concerns around the world.

The Lost Years of Merlin

The Lost Years of Merlin was the first book of the Merlin series and is a fantasy novel. The main character of the book is a young wizard who finds himself on a beach with a woman as if he was washed by the ocean to the shore.

The book is about the heroism of a young boy Baron who is taken as a wizard in the book. Throughout the book, the spirit of heroism and the love of Baron towards nature are seen. The book is the first novel of the series Merlin Saga.

In the storyline the wizard boy is washed away to the shore with his mother to a remote oceanic island, where he fights for the survival. In the storyline the boy loses his sight while saving another boy and later regains his vision using a second sight. The book is full of surprises and twists.

The boy later sets sail by building a raft using wood from the island on which he aims to visit Fincyra a place between Heaven and Earth. When he was leaving his mother give him a bag of herbs and a gem called Galator which is believed to have a vast array of powers. The rest of the story is about his journey to Fincyra. There he faces a war between the good and the evil and the story has a tragic end where his friends sacrifice themselves to make Emrys win.

Disney film studios are developing a movie based on this book “The Lost Years of Merlin” and Ed Whitworth was hired to write the script.

The Merlin Effect

It is another masterpiece by T.A. Baron, where he uses the same spirit of the Merlin series and beautifully presents the spirit of heroism in another great novel.

The way he narrates the story, he inspires and often boosts the morale of a lot of youth. The heroism is timeless and the beautiful presentation of the power of nature is throughout the book. Moreover, it is disguised in such a way that a teenager or a young mind would start believing in the power of nature.

In the story there is a thirteen year old girl Kate Gordon who accompanies her father on an oceanic exploration trip. Her father is an English history professor and he sets sail in search of a Spanish Galleon off the Baja Peninsula. On her early encounters she rescues a whale that gets tangled in the expedition equipment.

The story is about retrieving a magical horn of power from the sunken ship which is surrounded by a large whirlpool. When they start the expedition they get engaged in a war with the Mortal army of Nimue and her large number of sea daemons. Kate is responsible for saving the world from the villain who aims to destroy the world using these horns. Boron uses all three aspects of heroism, nature and science in the story.

Apart from it, the story strikes the perfect balance between heroism, mythology and human emotions. There is a great amount of balance between the human emotions and the mythology. While on one hand Kate is a heroic girl, on the other hand she has great emotions that connect her with her father and friends. Throughout the novel there is a perfect balance between emotions and heroism.
