Tammy L Grace is an award winning and USA Today bestselling author who is known for writing mysteries, women’s fiction and sweet Christmas stories. She has also been known to write some heartwarming stories about the bonds between dogs and humans under the pseudonym Casey Wilson.
The author was born and brought up in Nevada and from a very young age, she had a strong love for reading. She would then go on to work for state and local government before she retired and decided to try her hand at writing.
Reading her novels, you can always expect entertaining stories that will take you on an emotional journey full of complex relationships of family and friendship.
When she is not working on her novels, she can usually be found reading, spending time with family and indulging in her addiction to chocolate.
Grace always thought she would grow up to become an author as she fell in love with storytelling when she read “Little Women” as a child. She identified with Jo and how much she wanted to write, but career and life got in the way.
Still, a day after she retired, she decided to write her first novel. Tammy wrote “Finding Home,” her debut novel of the “Hometown Harbor” series of novels in 2014 and has never looked back since.
She now has more than twenty novels published and she is one of the very few authors that are both self published and traditionally published.
She has said that she was and is still inspired by the many wonderful books she read over the years. Tammy L Grace still loves to read for pure enjoyment and as an escape.
She also finds inspiration from her many travels to new places and in fact was inspired to pen the “Hometown Harbor” series when she took a trip to the San Juan Islands.
Just like most authors, Tammy L Grace had quite the journey before she became a published author. Her journey started when she went to a writers’ conference while polishing the manuscript for her debut novel. The conference helped her understand the business side of writing and more about how to publish.
After she visited and consulted agents and fellow authors she just knew that self publishing was what she wanted to do given the control it gave her. Grace just could not see herself going through the agent search, the query process and how much hassle it was to get a book to market using traditional publishing.
On the other hand, she still has to learn the aspects of self publishing if she was to be a success. After attaining success as a self published author, she was approached by Hachette in 2018 and this is how she would become the author of heartwarming and emotional stories about dogs.
Still, she believes that self publishing is the best way of doing it, even though she still works with traditional publishers on some of her projects.
“Finding Home” by Tammy L Grace opens to Sam Collins plagued by constant loneliness and fear. She had been shattered when after more than twenty five years of marriage, her husband had turned out to be a philanderer.
She now constantly relives the betrayal from her husband and the tragic death of her parents. Deciding that Seattle was too dark for her, she leaves with her dog and sets out for San Juan Island, where she has a vacation home.
In her quest for a carpenter, she stumbles into the very available and handsome Jeff Cooper. She is not looking for romance but the retired firefighter is something else. While eating her pies as he works in her house, Jeff also starts falling for the beautiful young woman.
But then the past she has been fighting to keep in the past comes back at the most unexpected of times. As she attempts to help a young man, she must deal with the anguish she wanted to run away from.
While torn between friendship and love, she has to deal with her fear and choose between the chance for a home and family she has always longed for and the life she has known.
Tammy L Grace’s “Home Blooms” heads back to San Juan Island, where we get to meet old friends and a few new ones. Linda finds herself knee deep in boutonnieres and bouquets, as she designs an exquisite ceremony for Jeff and Sam.
Her matchmaking plot is taking shape as she teams up with Max, her best friend in the quest for the perfect wedding. Max and Linda are thrown together when the honeymooner’s newfound happiness is under threat from an unseen tragedy.
As they are forced to make some hard choices, Linda stumbles on a family secret that leads her on a quest for truth and makes her question her existence.
As Max starts penetrating the walls around her heart, someone from the past comes back into her life threatening her newfound love. She struggles between the future and the past and may just need to find a balance between the two.
“A Promise of Home” by Tammy L Grace is set during Christmas in Friday Harbor. In between holiday activities, friends of Max and Linda are busy planning their wedding set for Valentine’s day.
Regi is just about to turn forty and cannot wait for Cam to fulfill the promise he made to her more than two decades back. As she counts down to the reunion with Cam, she does not notice that Nate, the local delivery guy, is showing some interest in her.
They usually spend some time together helping a new resident in town design his new antiques and art shop. While they work together, she starts developing feelings for Nate, even as she bonds with the newcomer as they share similar tragic stories.
Regi is looking at her choices when she gets dealt a blow that unearths her past and almost destroys her life. Seeking youthful fairytale promise, will she be able to grab her chance at a home and true happiness.
