Tanya Anne Crosby is a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author of historical romance fiction. Since she published “Angel of Fire” her debut novel in 1992 she has become quite the author with more than two dozen novels to her name.
Crosby has also had her works featured in magazines such as “Publishers Weekly,” “Romantic Times,” and “People.” Furthermore, her works have been translated into more than half a dozen languages and she has been deemed one of the most promising stars signed to Avon Books.
Tanya has made a reputation for herself penning stories filled with humor and emotions and people with flawed characters. Over the years, she has become known as an award-winning editor, journalist, and author whose works have earned critical acclaim from critics and readers.
She published “Speak No Evil” her first thriller in 2013 and the novel went on to become a bestseller on USA Today.
The author currently lives between northern Michigan and Charleston South Carolina where she grew up. She loves engaging with her fans in the newsletter on her website and on her social media profile on Facebook.
From a very young age, Tanya’s parents noticed that she had quite the way with words. Tanya was born to a Spanish mother in Spain and an American father and realized how important language was when she first flew into the US.
She was fascinated by all the lights on the runway but could not convey the vivid feelings she had to her grandmother who could not speak Spanish. She had a sense of helplessness sitting in the car and this set the tone for her entire life thereafter.
She spent much of her childhood traveling and reading and she was raised all over the US before she finally settled in Northern Michigan.
Tanya Anne Crosby had a very funny educational background. She went to school in Ponce Puerto Rico, in a very small school with one class for each of the 12 grades.
By the time she was in the third grade, she had started helping her third-grade teacher in teaching the other kids to read since language was so important to her.
She still remembers coming second place in a schoolwide spelling bee only getting beaten by a senior. It was at that moment that she made the decision to become an author.
Much to Tanya Anne Crosby’s surprise, she got published rather quickly. She was about twenty-six years old when she penned her first manuscript and started sending it to agents.
She had been expecting to get a ton of rejections and even had more than 100 manuscript boxes but was lucky enough to sell her book on the first try.
She sent her manuscript to more than 10 agents but ultimately went with the first agent that responded to her query. She was the agent that sold her first manuscript to von Books who were at the top of the publishing world at the time.
After working with Avon for several years, Tanya ultimately decided that she was better off as a self-published author. Tanya now has more than 50 works to her name across several series, novellas, collections of short stories, and single-standing novels.
“The MacKinnon’s Bride” by Tanya Anne Crosby is a historical work set in Scotland in the 12th century. The lead in the novel is the laird of the Mackinnons named Iain and the daughter of a Northumbrian-based English earl named Page Fitzsimon.
The lard recently lost his wife after she committed suicide soon after giving birth to their son. Half a dozen years later, Malcolm his son is taken and held at the Fitzsimon castle. Iain retaliates by kidnapping Page hoping to exchange him for the kid, only to discover that her father is not interested in getting her back.
When the Earl hands back the boy, Iain has no choice but to take Page back to Scotland with him. The two had instant lust at their first meeting but Page turns out to be a snippy woman. Iain reacts with amusement but Pages’s temperament means that it takes them some time to get together.
Much of the story is about the travel of Iain and Page from her father’s castle to Iain’s home in Scotland. Both of them have been hurt badly in the past and this makes it hard for them to give in to the love that often feels too far away.
Tanya Anne Crosby’s novel “Lyon’s Gift” is the story of the English knight Piers de Montgomerie. Just recently, King David of Scotia granted him land for friendship and service to the realm.
Piers is a man who is best known as the son of a prostitute and a bastard. His mother had made certain that he got tutors who taught him how to write and read and ultimately, he became a philosopher rake.
Despite his success, Lyn just could not find any pleasure and always felt something was missing in his life. But then he had caught Meghan Brodie stealing one of his lambs.
She had been raised by her three brothers following the death of her parents and had over the year become a very independent and wild child. She believes all men just like her brothers are only interested in getting sex from women.
Meghan does not believe a man is capable of caring for a woman’s heart, soul, or mind and hence she made the decision never to get married. Moreover, she loves her independence too much.
But then fate brings the two together and they learn truths about themselves they would never have imagined.
“On Bended Knee” by Tanya Anne Crosby is the story of Colin and Seana that were a world apart, even though they grew up together. Nothing ever came easy for Seana but Colin always had it smooth sailing.
Seana is a pretty girl with a strong will who takes care of her sick father and makes him his whiskey now that he cannot do it himself. She has had a very lonely life and all she wants is to get married and get a better place where she can live with her father.
The man she believes is for her is Broc who had always shown her kindness ever since they were kids. However, Broc does not see her that way and hence she turns to Colin to help her with Broc.
At first, Colin does not recognize her as the girl he used to bully when they were kids as she has become very pretty and her limp has faded. Things get complicated when Page’s evil father turns up and starts making a mess of all their plans.
