Author Teresa Medeiros was born around the year 1962, and before writing novels, she worked as a nurse. She lives with her husband and cat in the state of Kentucky. She started writing her first novel at the age of 21, and has not looked back since then. She does not have a favorite book that she has written, she feels this question is a lot like choosing a favorite kid. She feels that she loves each one equally.

For those looking to properly pronounce her name, it is like Madeira (the wine) but with an s at the end of it.

She has won two Fantasy, Futuristic, and Paranormal Romance Writers PRISM Award. She has won two Waldenbooks Award for bestselling fiction. All of her novels have been New York Times Best Sellers.

She sent off her first manuscript and sent it to Avon Books (due to the fact that they published Rosemary Rogers and Kathleen E. Woodwiss). It took them a year to reject her, and in that time, she was able to do research and edit the manuscript. By then, she had sent out 22 query letters to different publishers. In response, some wanted to see ten chapters, others only wanted to see three chapters, and some did not want to hear back from her ever. Just three months later, she got a book deal with Berkley Books. It took a few years and some books, but then she made it to Avon.

She actually had her very first novel published. She re-wrote it ten times, as she was willing to do whatever revisions would make the story stronger. It was this willingness to revise and overall skill at revision that impressed her first editor and it got her first sale.

Before she hired an agent, she was able to sell two books. The one she wound up hiring has been her agent since the year 1990, and Teresa believes that you can sell books without an agent. She adds though, that you should get one if you would want a long term career writing stories.

She found that as a publisher, she can control a lot more than just the writing part. She can make things happen, and no longer has to wait for them to happen.

She has written many series, some of which include: the “Kincaid Highland” series, the “Cabot” series, the “Farleigh Sisters” series, and the “Lennox Family Magic” series.

“Charming the Prince” is the first novel in the “Once Upon a Time” series and was released in the year 1999. Fear is not something that Lord Bannor the Bold has ever felt, until the war is over and is father to twelve kids that he can’t control. So he sends his steward out to find a meek and plain woman to play mother to the kids, someone that will not try to tempt him to knock her up.

The steward, however, comes back with a beautiful woman that makes him think of nothing else. Her name is Lady Willow and she is an embodiment of everything that he has sworn to resist. He never thought that she would join the kids to show him how great surrender can be.

This book will make readers laugh and cry, something that some readers enjoy. It warms the heart and is able to make readers laugh, what a wild ride the novel is for readers to enjoy. Fans of the novel enjoy the story, once the mother shows up to the house, and how funny things get when the kids try to run the mother off. For some, they cannot say enough nice things about this author, and find they will read more and more by her, because of this book. Here is a cute and lovable book

“The Bride and the Beast” is the second novel in the “Once Upon a Time” series and was released in the year 2001. This is a retelling of “Beauty and the Beast”. Gwendolyn Wilder thought that dragons did not exist. The superstitious Highlanders of Ballybliss did believe in them and Gwendolyn wound up having to be a virgin sacrifice for the Dragon that haunts what remains of Castle Weyrcraig.

She soon finds that the Dragon is not a monster at all, but a man that is able to put together a sensuous spell over her. It confounds her ability to use common sense, and shows her to believe in something that is even more magical than just a dragon. It is true love.

Some liked how this retelling of “Beauty and the Beast” turned out. The story felt original and it held some people captive while they read it. Fans of the novel found this to be a wonderful story, that held readers in its spell until they had finished it. This is an author at the top of her game, putting out great material that some can’t get enough of.

“A Kiss to Remember” is the third novel in the “Once Upon a Time” series and was released in the year 2002. Laura Fairleigh (a rector’s daughter) requires a husband to be able to keep her siblings from being homeless. She finds a mysterious man sleeping out in the forest; he has no memory of what his name is or of his past, so Laura decides that she can claim him for her own.

She does know yet, but this fallen angel is actually Sterling Harlow, a notorious rakehell also called “Devil of Devonbrooke”. She only realizes too late that she gives him the right to claim her body, home, and heart. She has to win the devil’s heart in order to save both of their souls.

Fans of the novel found this to be worth their reading time. Some were lured in, just by the blurb, and were glad they picked this one up. This is an author that is able to handle a story line that is tricky really well. The book has a strong hero, and readers enjoyed seeing him change over the course of the entire novel. These books are hard to put down (so you will want to set aside enough time to dedicate to reading these books), and once you read one of this author’s books, you will want to read them all.
