Author Teresa Mummert grew up in a small town located in Pennsylvania, and it was here that she started dating the man she would later marry. They were only sixteen years old when they began dating, and were married at the age of eighteen. They would also move down to Louisiana, as her husband started his career in the military. They live in the state of Georgia with their four kids.

She began writing stories while her husband was deployed over in Afghanistan, and used it to get away from the fact that he was fighting in a war. She found that it could quite therapeutic for her to write; as it allowed her to have an outlet for what she was feeling and helped her stay busy. She says that she always enjoyed writing, usually short stories or poetry. It has been fascinating for her to examine darker characters and see what makes someone tick.

Quickly, her work rose to the top of the USA Today and New York Times best seller lists. Her “White Trash” trilogy, which took off with the help of word of mouth, got her a three book deal with Simon and Schuster.

When writing, she likes to take a character that is flawed and make them come to the realization that they are stronger than they realize and are not defined by what happened in their past. For her, the females tend to be more open with how they feel, and the men tend to hide what they are feeling at a given moment.

Teresa writes a novel that is in her head at the moment. She starts coming up with the characters, and then, once she has them figured out some, she gets some music to get her in the right mood to write for them. After that, she writes all of the story that she believes is important to tell a full story.

She likes that she has been able to get to experience traditional publishing, while also being indie. It allows you to see the inner workings of the publishing business, and why things move the way they do.

Some of what she writes about, like in “Suicide Note” is actually based on some things that her husband saw in Afghanistan.

Her work includes the following series: the “Honor” series, the “Undying Love” series, the “Shame On You” series, and the “Hollow Point” series. She says that she crosses into many genres, but seems to get put in the New Adult category.

“Honor Student” is the first novel in the “Honor” series and was released in the year 2012. This installment is told from Emma’s point of view. Emma’s life is quite self destructive, and she is barely able to make her way through school as a college student. Things are turned upside down for her, when she meets Mr. Honor, who is her new history teacher that has an idea of discipline that might be too much for her to handle.

Some cannot wait to read more about these characters, and hope the other books are this good from this series. Fans of the novel felt they simply could not put this book down for very long. Emma was a likable character as well, who took off when she was not wanted by William. This is a better hero than Christian Grey, and fans enjoyed getting to know William Honor here in this book. They especially like when his emotions start showing through.

“Honor Thy Teacher” is the second novel in the “Honor” series and was released in the year 2012. This installment is told from William’s point of view. Emma told William that he loved her, now read what he will do to protect her, from his twisted and dark point of view.

Another great and hard to put down read from a talented author; there is a lot to love about this book, too, with romance, mystery, sex, and all kinds of drama. Fans of the novel enjoy reading about William and as they get to learn more about this great character. Some feel like they believed they knew William, but they were way wrong through learning about; something they enjoyed doing while reading this book.

“Honor and Obey” is the third novel in the “Honor” series and was released in the year 2012. This installment is told from Emma’s point of view. Emma has the love of her life, but the dark secret he has might change it all. There was a horrible accident and a loved one was lost, now the student has to become the teacher.

Secrets start unraveling, and Emma has to figure out if she can look past it all or is she going to have to move on and start over?

Some did not really know how much they were going to like this series when the first started reading it. Fans of the novel cannot wait for the next book to answer all the questions that this one popped up. Here is quite a steamy and sexy read that will keep you captivated throughout. Some like that this book does not end the way they expected, even though they should kind of expect this by now. This book was hard to put down, and some were able to get it done in just two hours.

“Honor and Betray” is the fourth novel in the “Honor” series and was released in the year 2013. This installment is told from William’s point of view. William has just started to learn how to love, however, his dark secrets could change it all. Things hang by a string after recent problems. As Emma learns more about William, can he hang on to her, or is he going to lose it all?

Some came into the book already enjoying this genre, and these books have been excellent for them to read. Readers enjoy the way that the series shows both Emma’s perspective and William’s, as it adds to the experience and allows readers to really get to know both characters. Fans enjoy this wonderful series, and think this is a top notch author who writes nothing but great books. Fans of Teresa’s work really enjoyed this, and feel that they are witnessing an author at the top of their game.
