Teresa Southwick is a noteworthy American writer of historical romance and contemporary novels. She has written four historicals and more than 40 contemporary romance books in her career. Altogether, she has penned over 65 novels so far. Some of the most popular book series written by Teresa include the Desert Bride series, the Destiny Texas series, the Men Mercy medical series, The Nanny Network series, The Bachelors of Blackwater Lake series, etc. Author Teresa has been a finalist for the Reader’s Choice award for a total of 4 times. Also, she has received nominations for the RITA Award, Reviewer’s Choice Award by Romantic Times Magazine, etc. Teresa went on to win the Best Series Romance award in 2003. Author Teresa was born in California, United States. She was one among the 6 children of her parents, and this meant that there was not much room for her to be alone in the small house. So, she used to spend most of her time on the swing set that her parents had set up in their backyard.

The place became a favorite of Teresa as she began spending long hours imagining about her characters and stories. The back & forth movement of the swing also helped her to develop an interest in taking up cruise voyages for vacationing. Another factor that played an important role in improving her writing skills was having the company of four brothers while growing up. Being with them made her understand the point of view of males. She learned a lot about how males think and react in different situations. This served her quite well to have a prosperous career in the field of writing. A native of California, Teresa has spent a few years living in Texas. But today, she has settled in Las Vegas. She likes to be around casinos, rocks, and cactus-filled landscapes. As of now, author Teresa is working towards the developed of her next novel of romance. She loves writing from the comfort of her home because of her passion for the work and also because the weather outside is always very hot. So, she likes to remain indoors and spend most of her time writing romance stories.

Teresa says that the reason she was able to become a successful author is because she was quite lazy as a child. When she was handed over a list containing possible projects for her high school history class, Teresa chose Marie Antoinette’s imaginary diary as it seemed to her that it will require her to put in the least efforts. But soon, Teresa realized that if she wants to put in some plausible personal entries about Marie Antoinette, she must know something about her. So, she began her research work based on the life of Marie Antoinette. This became a habit for Teresa in the long run. Now, whenever she sits down to create a character, she tries to gather as much information as possible about that particular character’s life and personality. It also allows her to work and have fun at the same time. Author Teresa is happy to know that her laziness did not play any role in her creative process. Today, Teresa is enjoying her life as a writer and hopes to continue writing many more interesting romance novels in the years to come. She is highly grateful to her dedicated readers for liking her work and supporting her throughout the years.

A popular book series written by author Teresa Southwick is called The Nanny Network series. It is comprised of a total of 3 books released in 2009. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Marrying the Virgin Nanny’. It was released by Silhouette publishers in 2009. This book features the lead characters in the roles of Jason Garrett, Maggie Shepherd, and Brady. At the story’s start, Jason Garrett is introduced as a single father. He is in search of a nanny to look after his infant son named Brady. He wishes to hire someone, who would not just be a nanny Brady, but care for him as his mother. And when he sees applications from three different nannies, Jason becomes more than overwhelmed. He decides to give Maggie Shepherd a chance and see how she fares at the job.

And the moment Jason sees Maggie picking up Brady in her arms, he becomes sure that he has found the right person for the job. This job was a suitable one for Maggie also as she was looking for a place she can call home. Seeing the way Maggie cared for his son, Jason comes up with a solution that seemed perfect for both of them. He proposes marriage to her, citing the fact that it is in the best interest of the two. Maggie seems surprised at Jason’s offer at first, but agrees. Even though her marriage to Jason Garrett was a business deal, Maggie finds herself attracted towards the irresistible Jason. She decides to take a step further in this relationship and find a place for herself in Jason’s heart permanently.

The next book to follow up in the series is called ‘The Nanny and Me’. It was also published in 2009 by Silhouette. In this novel, Teresa has mentioned the lead characters as Casey Thomas, Mia, and Blake Decker. At the book’s beginning, it is shown that Casey Thomas works as a nanny. She learns a lesson from her past experiences on the job that it is not a good idea to get too involved in the work. But, she forgets this lesson when she comes across her new boss named Blake Decker. She finds Blake devastatingly handsome and seems falling for him. Blake Decker has hired Casey Thomas to look after his troubled and orphaned niece named Mia. When Casey battles with the arrogant uncle of Mia, she seems surprised and feels her temper and heart rate are soaring high. Blake Decker is a wealthy attorney, who sees Casey as just an employee. Being attracted to her irresistible and headstrong nature is the last thing that he has in his mind. Blake finds it quite surprising when Casey insists him to be more attentive towards Mia and put more efforts in understanding what she really needs. Seeing Casey fight to make him get close to his heart makes Blake develop feelings for her the fierce nanny. Along with opening his heart for his orphaned niece, Blake also makes a place for Casey Thomas in his heart. The two go on to have a life full of love and romance. Blake feels he has found the thing that was missing from his life before and now he has become complete with Casey and Mia in his life.
