Double Deception

Kate Wheeler faith was the most important part of her to see her through all types of tragedies until her world turned deadly. Her husband was brutally murdered, and the discovery of her husband double life had made her a victim on the run, seeking protective custody of Sheriff Brody McClain. The sheriff then committed himself to helping Kate to unravel the truth about her husband’s death. While the two indulge themselves in bringing her husband’s killer, the find themselves attracted to each other.

Each of the novels in this series uses one of the four McCain siblings. The first book Double Deception is a book about the second oldest, the sheriff who helps Kate. The sheriff is seen trying to forget about his painful past experiences but sooner realizes that he cannot run from the past the moment he arrests a woman for breaking and thus welcomes his past emotions which take him over again.

On the other hand, Kate is a strong woman but has her problems and is trying to establish out the actual identity of the man she was married to and the harder she works to the more she gets stuck into this mystery. Now after joining forces together, the two partners, Kate and Brody solve this perplexing mystery that takes them on a cross-country trip from New York to Boston seeking answers while Brody’s family is there willing to help at all costs.

In general, the suspense presented in this novel is magnificent as well as the real emotions- for instance, as a reader you can feel deep down the doubt and the betrayal Sheriff Brody felt. Also, the romance was sweet filled with lots of tension.

Double Jeopardy

After witnessing a brutal murder, Anna Jones confirms to testify, and thus she is given a new name, history and given advice not to get too close to anyone. However, she does manage to, but with a good reason and somehow, her identity is compromised, and thus someone knows who she is, where she resides. On the other hand, Patrick McClain is a witness to the scare tactics used against this innocent young woman, and he thus promises to keep the lady safe and she will have to disappear again or lest she put their lives in great danger.

The author, Terri Reed is an outstanding writer of all time, she has a talent for creating plenty of actions and romantic tensions, a key aspect that every author must adopt if he/she needs to capture the reader’s attention to the last page. The chemistry that exists between Patrick and Anne creates a very much stronger bond that no one can even dare break the bond. The two had their reason to get involved with each other.

The action in this novel feels like an action movie, Patrick does what every man would do for his woman and thus does whatever it takes to ensure that Anna Jones is protected and safe.

Towards the end of the novel, the author has done an excellent of pulling off the surprise well. An element of surprise is always the key to ensuring the readers are engaged to the last part.

Double Cross

However, it is becoming clear to her that all the accidents threatening her life are an act of sabotage. Her only last hope is the wealthy and handsome businessman once considered the prime suspect. Can she trust him not only with her home but as well as with her heart and heritage?

This is a good novel to read; it is all detailed to the four McClain’s siblings, the character is presented in this book in such a manner their interaction within themselves and with the readers is lively thus creating an atmosphere that the readers find it appealing to relate. The plot twists and many red herrings ensure that the readers can anticipate what would happen to their favorite character at the end of the storyline.

Double Threat Christmas

According to the police reports, Megan McClain, had the motivation, all the means and the right opportunity to commit a double murder. Unless she can prove to the police that she is innocent, she will have to spend the Christmas holiday in jail. Deep down, she knows that she is innocent and someone might be in the race to pin her down forever. So as to find out the real person trying to sabotage her, she begins her investigations, and she uncovers not only one but two possible suspects she never imagined. The police detective taking on this assignment is not pleased with Megan undertaking his investigation for him, and the more Paul Wallace investigates further, the guiltier Megan McClain looks to him. This is because; she is hiding something, that which scares her more than her feelings for the handsome cop.

Paul Wallace, the detective, did not believe that Megan could be the killer since she was sweet and innocent and an attractive young woman. The McClain family is a family comprised of different people each playing a distinct role and having different motives. However, the unity in this family can view to be contributed by the four McClain siblings. Terri Reed does a good job of creating unique primary and secondary characters as well and expected from such a great author; the plot flows nicely thus maintaining readers attention from the first to the last page.
