Tessa Dawn is an American author that is most popular for the “Blood Curse” series of Gothic/Dark Fantasy romance novels. Dawn was born and raised in Colorado where she developed an intense affinity for the Rockies very early in her life. She graduated from college with bachelors in psychology and went on to work for a few years in mental health and criminal justice, before she went back to school to get her masters in non-profit management. Tessa was an early bloomer and had already written her first full-length novel by the time she was eleven years old. By the time she was a high school graduate, she had enough novels and short stories to fill a banker’s box. Since then, she has gone on to excel in the writing of various literature that have included academic curricula, kids’ workbooks, greeting cards, and poetry.

Dawn’s very first works were in education and poetry before she decided to publish a creative fiction work. Tessa Dawn’s first novel was “Blood Destiny” first published in 2010 to widespread success and critical acclaim. Having worked in several different literary pursuits for several years, her return to fiction was a reminder of her storytelling flair and passion that had been evident right from childhood. Thirteen titles later, Tessa has become one of the most popular writers in the Gothic/fantasy genre with her books sold in over 100 countries across the globe and more than seventeen bestseller status to her name. She has at various times rivalled the likes of Sherrilyn Kenyon and Stephen King on the Paranormal, Fantasy, and Horror charts on Amazon. She currently lives in the Colorado Mountains and suburbs, with one crazy cat and two children. She hopes that she can one day live in the country, where she can get a German shepherd and own and ride horses whenever she feels like it.

“The Blood Curse” series of novels by Tessa awn feature the Silivasi brothers Nachari, Marquis, Nathaniel, and Kagen. The brothers are vampires descended from the Jadon family whose lineage is under a curse. The curse was pronounced on Prince Jadon the Romanian and Prince Jaegar the evil one. Due to their many transgressions against women, they have been cursed to never have female children or ever feel the companionship or love of women. They would always get their sons as twins from women that would die a cruel death immediately after giving birth. The first set of twins would have to be sacrificed while the second set would have an evil pair of sons. If the family refused to sacrifice the first set, the family would die a horrible death and remain immortal, so that they could suffer a life of walking in the dark drinking the blood of innocents. The Jadon line successfully petitioned and had their curse lightened, so that their descendants could walk during the daytime, though they still could not have female offspring and did not need to kill even if they still lived on blood. Their children would also have a mix of evil and pure children thus ensuring a polar set of vampires. The series is set in 800 BCE where the Celestial Beings had been wiped off the face of the earth by human blood lust, leaving only the Silivasis of Dark Moon Vale. The Silivasi’s live on the vale with their human women and battle for control of the earth with their paranormal relatives of the house of Jaegar and the Lycans.

Tessa Dawn writes phenomenal novels that push the limits and incorporate out of the box thinking. They introduce darker and markedly different variations of the dark fantasy/paranormal fantasy romance genre. Nonetheless, the author does a great job at balancing the more sensitive and lighter scenes with the more disturbing ones making for incredible plot lines. She writes story lines that are highly descriptive by going back to the history of the curse and offering an incredibly unique and creative account of how the brothers came to be what they are. The novels are at the same time dark, horrifying, exciting suspenseful, yet full of humor and passion. The Silivasi brothers embody the bold, intriguing, and seductive nature of dark heroes, with some of the most delightful romantic interactions and relationships of a Gothic romance series. The vampires have an emotional and softer side, even if they are more intense than your common vampire by the likes of Stephen King.

“Blood Destiny”, the first novel in the Blood Curse series of novels is a novel about Nathaniel Silivasi, an ancient vampire weighed down by a curse. Nathaniel has fallen in love with a twenty-nine-year-old intelligence agent tasked with investigating a secret society. Nathaniel is a powerful, seductive, and handsome vampire descended from a union of humans and Celestial gods. Since he is a member of the ancient order of vampires that had been cursed for sacrificing their females, he cannot have female offspring just like all male members of his clan. While he is a civilized modern man, he needs to sacrifice a first-born son to the gods to be cleared of the sins of his ancestors. Meanwhile, Jocelyn Levi is shocked when she stumbles on a pristine mountain valley that she believes will be key to untangling the mystery of the cult she has been investigating. What the defiant and beautiful female does not know is that she is about to be front and center of a clash of worlds she never thought ever existed. She is now deep inside a domain of mystery, code, and warriors, where predators are divided from their prey by shadow and light. Moreover, the handsome dark stranger offering his help is the most dangerous of the people she is after.

“Blood Awakening” is the second novel in the series where a streetwise human, a mysterious woman, and an ancient vampire are involved in deadly survival game of life and blood. The lead in the series is Marquis Silivasi, an ancient vampire who has proved himself unforgiving, harsh, and merciless all his life. However, he has lived a hard life as his enemy had destroyed the one soul he had vowed to keep alive, had his parents hunted and killed and saw his dark twin sacrificed to fulfill some ancient obligation. His entire life is turned upside down when a mysterious female shows up in his hometown of Dark Moon Vale to set off a series of strange happenings. It would seem that she has brought to life dark forces of the curse placed on Marquis at his birth. The two are now bound in a destiny in which they increasingly have to struggle though deception and betrayal in a world where they will experience a chilling blood awakening if they are to survive.

   When will the next book of the Sons of Jaden be released and how many more books will there be. Many, many more I hope. Fantastic series.
