Lisa Jackson is a published American author. She is known for her best-selling novels and has in print over seventy-five novels in the romance and romantic suspense genres. She has written over 85 novels in total.

Her full name is Susan Lisa Jackson. She also has published books using the pen name Susan Lynn Crose.

Born in 1952, Lisa Jackson was not always a best-selling author. Prior to selling many books nationally, she was a mother struggling to make ends meet. She wrote novels hoping that someday, she would get paid for them and be able to make a living off of them. She ended up doing better than she could have ever dreamed of.

Her books have done extremely well and have made it onto the national bestseller lists of USA Today, The New York Times, and Publishers Weekly. She is a prolific writer and readers get to pick from dozens of her novels to be entertained. Her novels include Tell Me, Running Scared, Malice, Shiver, You Don’t Want to Know, Afraid to Die, and more.

She also served as the co-author with her sister Nancy Bush for the Colony series. She has done so well and is such a bestseller that there are now 20 million copies of her books in print. They have been translated into 20 languages.

The main character in this book is Marla Cahill. When a terrible sequence of events happens to her, the last thing that she could have predicted is that she would wake up and not recognize herself.

She went through a car accident that was so bad that it should have killed her. Instead, Marla woke up with a new face that wasn’t at all like the one that she was accustomed to seeing. Sure, she doesn’t look bad. But all of her gorgeous features have been brought back to what they approximately would look like through the wonders of plastic surgery.

She ought to be grateful that she is alive and to be fair, she doesn’t look bad. But waking up, instead of being comforted, ends up being mildly terrifying. She’s confused and panicked due to the fact that the people that are all around her bedside that are supposed to be family seem like strangers.

Just like the person that looks back at her when she stares into the mirror. She has haunted eyes and has been through something significantly traumatizing. The worst part about everything is that when she finally woke up after her accident, she had no memories at all. That is perhaps the most disturbing part of all of this, in addition to not recognizing family and having restored features.

She’s on her own holed up at the impressive Cahill mansion, waiting for something that is going to help her remember something or recognize somebody. Everybody is reassuring her that she is herself, but the only thing that she can focus on is a feeling that she can’t shake– one that she’s not who people say she is.
