The Others is a series novel authored by an accomplished American writer, Christine Warren. Although Christine did not start with writing as her main occupation target, she would quit her medical line of profession to pursue her writing career. She has been successful in her career as a writer being recognized as New York Time’s best-selling America romance author – a prestigious title.

Christine did not originally want to pursue writing as her main career option but eventually found herself quitting her medication line of profession to pursue writing. Born in New England, she went ahead and finished her high school at the same place but went to New Jersey for her college education. She pursued English literature and European History, but she did not finish this as she went back to her hometown to pursue medical education. It is during this time that she realized that she actually had the ability to express her creativity through written books. She was, however, inspired by the romance novels she was fond of reading. This is precisely why most if not all her novels and stories have romance as their base theme.

It seems like Christine prefers expressing her creativity through a series of releases under one novel. She began by writing a series of six short stories which she incorporated in a novel known as Fixed. These short stories would however e expanded and form the first stories of the Others series. There is, however, an important point to note. The writing and publication of these books do not follow the same reading order one should follow especially if one wants to the series based on the happenings of the events addressed in the book.

The novel publication was done in March 2006 and was the Wolf at the Door. During this story, Christine captures two main themes; Love and the supernatural beings. The supernatural beings in this novel are werewolves with the main being Sullivan Quinn who learns about a group with the sole purpose of wiping out their line of species. On learning this, Quinn embarks on a journey to America to warn his wolf back about the intentions of this group. There is a relationship which grows between Quinn a supernatural species and Cassidy a normal human being. Through the trust that builds between these two, they are able to focus on developing strategies to help prevent the group from wiping out the werewolf species.

Another early release of a novel in this series was the Demon you Know published in May 2007. The novel is about a researcher working at a television station by the name Abby Baker. As she pursues a history she was covering, Abby is possessed by a demon and presents the society with another new personality she never thought existed in her. There is also a demon, Rule who is also lost and seeks to find his lost ways. As this happens, the other supernatural beings decide to show up in the society and are no longer living in fear. Rule understand that Abby holds the key to solving a lot of mysteries in that society and he concentrates on making this happen. As the other novels of the series highlight, there is bound to be a love story between Abby and Rule in their quest to solve the differences between the others and the humans in their society.

Christine continues to address the themes of supernatural beings who are captured by others in the series and the theme of love experienced among the humans and the supernatural beings in the societies those novels are based on. The author tries to figure out and express her imagination and creativity of how the world would be with the supernatural beings living in the same society with the normal human beings. The supernatural beings addressed in the series fall under the classifications of vampires, witches, and werewolves. These are among the species that humans have come to create fascinating myths of how they live. Christine, therefore, puts those myths into perspectives and provides the perfect insight of how they would co-exist with human beings by sharing love.

Although not the last novel the Drive me Wild novel published in November 2012, it is among the novels Christine has used to close her series book. In this novel, the main characters of the novel are witches and werefolks who apparently have been ignoring each other for the past 400 years. There is however room for some discussions to be held to ensure that the two are able to co-exist peacefully and this responsibility is handed to Tess Menzies one of the witches who are not that powerful. She is supposed to track down the current leader of the council of the others, Rafael De Santos. As fate would have it the only way of building a healthy relationship between the others and the other society of human beings living in that society is if only the two fall in love. Luckily the two would end up together bringing a close to the diplomatic relations that Tess had created.

Through all her stories, Christie focuses on the theme of love and this is attributed to the fact that her writing career was inspired by romance stories and novels she used to read while she was still in school. Since the human race has established themselves as the superior species and there have been myths created and told about other supernatural species living amidst the humans, Christine saw the need to capture the scenes of how the two would coexist. This is exactly what the Others series provides its readers with, an insight of how humans can live in harmony with the Others. Christine proves that love can change the whole picture of such situations. All the novels in this series address how love impacted the lives of two antagonistic sides and how it was the solution to the indifferences between the humans and the others. The endings of the all the novels are what captivates the most since they prove that what would have otherwise been impossible to achieve can actually be achieved through love.
