The Bank of the River is the first novel in The River fictional series of novels. In this thriller debut, a story packed with twists and turns begins.

Steven is excited to have moved into a new home. He is looking forward to enjoying his sabbatical and taking some quiet time to himself. The last thing that he ever would have thought about was whether the house would also have some other occupants.

Some people believe in ghosts and some don’t. Steven may have wanted a sabbatical to himself, but that just isn’t in the cards. He never thought that houses could really be haunted, but now he is starting to change his tune. He has no idea how to explain the knocking sounds that he hears throughout the house. Then apparitions of grisly figures start to show up, haunting him.

This is officially where Steven starts to believe that he isn’t crazy and there really is something supernatural going on with his house. But what is he supposed to do? He just got this house and now every night he is being kept up, tormented by the ghosts or whatever type of energy is inside his home. He can’t just sleep in a tent outside.

His personal life has gone up in flames, but he never expected his new place of refuge to turn out to be anything but that. Instead, he doesn’t even feel safe or able to be happy in his own home. Steven is dealing with a lot on top of that. He recently got divorced, and that has taken a toll on him. His son has practically grown up, as he is enrolled in college.

There is no one to share the home with him, which is partially a good thing. However, that means that Steven is left to be the only one witnessing these strange activities. He is all on his own when it comes to taking on the ghosts that appear to be living in his home’s shadows.

He wants more than anything to be able to put a logical explanation for why this is all happening. If he could just figure out what’s going on, maybe Steven can return to the world of rational, a place that he recognizes at last. His father does offer to try and help him out with the situation out of concern.

When Roy gets on board and comes over to the house, Steven starts to suspect that his father may actually have some type of supernatural ability. It appears to have been dormant, but now it’s waking up. Roy is starting to believe that he has a gift for picking up on things, and Steven is naturally skeptical, even though the spirits have been driving him crazy.

When Steven starts helping Roy to take on the forces inside his house, he finally starts to believe that his father may have the abilities that he has been in denial about. Steven starts to believe that they really can drive the evil weirdness out of his home for good. But when they start tackling the true energy trapped inside Steven’s home, they find something that is more evil and sinister than they were prepared for.

They never expected that ghosts would just be the start of their problems. It turns out that the two are dealing with powerful forces that may just change their perception of the world that we all live in. Can Roy embrace his gift and work with his son to drive these creatures and evil out? Pick up this book and read to the end to find out!

The second book in The River series is titled A Haunting in Oregon. If you love the supernatural elements and the horror fiction feel of the debut story, check out this sequel as well!

Welcome to Oregon, home of the famous Mason Manor. This historic home is known for its age, its beauty, and being haunted. Hidden away deep in the forest, the estate has a reputation for being a little out of the ordinary.

Mason Manor was first constructed in 1850. It has been transformed, made into a bed-and-breakfast destination. Sarah and Pete run this estate now. It was once such a nice place to go and stay the night and get away from it all, but things have changed.

Now the manor has taken on a sinister tone. Guests used to be able to check out, and now they’re not making it through the night. With guests being murdered in bed and fund the morning after in their own blood pool, they know it’s time to act.

The two know their business is in danger and don’t want anyone else to get hurt. Sarah and Pete decide to turn to their friend Roy. They’ve known for a long time that he has a gift when it comes to these things and hope they aren’t too late when it comes to stopping the evil that roams through the halls when the sun goes down.

It’s clear that some type of malevolent energy is living in the manor. When Steven and Roy show up, they discover that things are bad. When they come into contact with these ghosts, they know that evil is present. Can Roy use his gift to help save the manor? Read this book to find out!
