Beth Byers is a published author of fiction.

She loves reading as well as writing, but besides her passion for books, Beth also has many hobbies. She likes to bake and is appreciative of all of the interesting flavors that come from the process. She also likes to take recipes and then mix things up a little by experimenting with the ingredients for a unique result as well as taste every time!

More than baking, however, this writer has a passion for books. Beth will also admit that she has a bit of an obsession with rain and the way that it sounds as well as the way that it smells. She also really likes to take a hot cup of cocoa and curl up and get comfortable with a good book. She also likes when one of the puppies decides that they would like to cuddle and snuggle with her while she is reading, that is always something that cannot be beat.

The author resides in the Pacific Northwest region. When she was younger she would visit such local attractions as the Tillamook Cheese Factory and Bruce’s Candy Kitchen. She would also go to the ocean which was freezing cold in temperature and play there in Neskowin. This place would eventually become an inspirational focus for settings in her 2nd Chance Diner Mystery series and Silver Falls, Oregon.

Beth Byers is the creator and the author of the Violet Carlyle Mysteries. This series of novels began for the first time in 2018 when the series released the debut novel, Murder & the Heir. This was followed by the second novel and many after! If you enjoy a good suspenseful mystery, then be sure to check this series out.

Murder & The Heir is the first novel in the Violet Carlyle Mystery series. If you enjoy a good historical mystery story, then be sure to check this first book in the series out!

The year is 1922, and the time is Christmas. The main character and heroine of this story is a young woman named Violet Carlyle. She is spending some of the holidays with her other relatives and Agatha Davies, her aunt. They have been called there, although they do not know exactly why for certain. Some of the relatives have their suspicions about the matter, however, since this woman has devoted the majority of her considerably long life to getting money and tucking it away, all while maintaining a strong distance between herself and the rest of her family.

Violet has spent the holiday season with her aunt before. She intends to go to the holiday and enjoy it with her twin, and they’ll just do the same things that they are always used to doing. They’ll soak up all of the delicious things that Aunt Agatha has to offer them and enjoy the luxury to the fullest, and leave the rest of the relatives to argue with each other and hysterically try to get themselves to be part of the will.

Vi is surprised when Aunt Aggie states that she believes that there is someone out there that is actively attempting to take her life. Violet is perplexed and tries to wrap her head around the information, which seems too outlandish to be true. But could her aunt know exactly what is going on and be right that there is a killer out there?

Before she can make any great strides, Vi’s aunt passes away. It could have been natural causes, or she could have been killed just like she was fearing. Plenty of the family members in the room had ample reason to want to try and get her to die, but the only thing about the matter is that in fact they would have wanted to get their names into the will first. It makes no sense for any of them to risk killing her if they had nothing to gain from it.

Her aunt may not have ever officially named one of them to be her heir, as far as Violet knows. But from the instant that Aunt Aggie dies, a murder investigation starts up. One where she is one of the prime suspects, as are many other relatives. The one question that remains on her mind is whether someone actually did kill her aunt. And if so, who.

Vi would do anything to find the killer, and she’s working against the clock to try and clear her own name. She knows that there must be enough to work with to solve this case, but will it be evidence enough to lead Vi to a killer? Can she avenge her aunt and make her own way through life, or will she be derailed over a crime that she would never commit?

Can her twin Vic help her crack the case and clear her own name too? Their pals are along for the ride as these two do everything that they can to solve a mystery. What will the end result be? Pick up the first book in the Violet Carlyle Mystery series by Beth Byers to find out!

Kennington House Murder is the second novel in the Violet Carlyle Mystery series written by author Beth Byers. If you liked the first book, check out this second cozy mystery that will have you enjoying all of the light dramatic suspense and reading to the very last page to find out the ending!

The year is 1923, the month April. Lady Violet Carlyle has decide to come back home after spending her winter at the Amalfi Coast. Her younger sister is getting married, so why not take a break from the world of absolute luxury and come back to celebrate as her little sister says “I do”?

Violet was poorer the last time she spent time with her family. The situation back then was to get married before she was a poor prospect, and now she is wealthy beyond belief. Can she solve a murder while managing wedding dramatics? Will Chief Inspector Jack Wakefield help or get in the way? Read this mystery to find out!
