Tim C. Taylor is a renowned English author, who is famous for writing fantasy, historical fiction, and science fiction books. He is particularly well known for writing the novel series The Human Legion. This series has sold more than 125,000 printed copies throughout the world. It is going great even today. Author Tim resides in an old village located in England known as Bromham, along with his family. When he was small around the years 1977 & 1978, he got the chance to encounter some of mind altering substances such as Star Wars, Dungeon & Dragons, 2000AD, Blake’s 7, etc. Tim was so much inspired by all these that he made up his mind to write science books after going up. Eventually, the events in his life unfolded just as he had expected and rose to fame as a great writer of science fiction stories. Author Tim started his professional career initially in the software industry. He spent around 20 years attempting to live a peaceful regular life by working in software industry. However, he could hardly get anything good out of it. The only thing that worked in his favor while in this industry is that he met his lovely wife. As the routine was quite normal, author Tim started feeling bored and so he thought of doing something else in life. Subsequently, it struck him that he could try his hand at writing science fiction novels as he has a liking for it. And eventually, his writing career started in 2011. As the writing world was quite new to him at that time, he started slowly. And as he gained experience with each passing day, Tim started picking up pace. As of today, writing science fiction is everything for him and he spends most of his daytime trying to work out stories in various scientific setups. Author Tim feels proud that he has also published several other authors through the imprints Human Legion Publications, Greyhart Press, and The repository of Imagination.
The most famous books of author Tim include the novels of the Human Legion series. The books of this series depict space opera and military science fiction sequences. Other the Human Legion book series, author Tim has written a couple of other book series, including The Reality War and Revenge Squad. Besides these, Tim has written a novella called Last Man Through the Gate. His intention behind writing this novella was to bridge his Reality War novels with another book series, which is not published yet. The story of the novella is set in a similar extended universe as the books of Human Legion. Author Tim has contributed a few novelettes and short stories in several magazines and anthologies. He has decided to collect all those short stories and publish them together in 2018. Author Tim was once working on a couple of fantasy and young adult short stories along with his partner and co-founder of Repository of Imagination. He had even begun writing the both the stories under the pen name of Crustias Scattermush. However, his parter passed away suddenly at a time when the stories had reached only half way through. As a result, the stories remained unfinished and they are so even today. Author Tim felt very sad about the loss of his friend and partner. The stories are very close to his heart and always remind him of his friend. He has stated that he is going to start working on them soon and finish them as soon as possible.
The Human Legion series written by Tim C. Taylor is comprised of a total of 5 novels and 1 novella, which were released between the years 2011 and 2016. The series is set in 2565 A.D. It is described that a million children were sold into slavery around 5 centuries ago. This was the price paid by Earth to protect itself from regional superpower. A small group of slaves was augmented and bio-engineered for fighting for the alien officer as Human Marine Corps. Most of the aliens see the Corps as a big joke. They think that the Corps are stupid to believe that they are considered genuine warriors. But, there are several others who see potential in them. Such people think that the Corps are destined for something far greater. The debut novel of this series is entitled ‘Marine Cadet’. It was released in the year 2014. Author Tim has introduced the chief character in this book’s story as Arun McEwan. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Arun McEwan is a 17 year old boy, who shows the eagerness give a new start to his life by becoming a Marine Cadet. He has to undergo 3 years of combat exercises, brainwashing, and drills for being able to qualify for the post of a Marine. If he fails to qualify, then the only alternative for him is death. Arun McEwan goes on to forge an unlikely bonding with a scribe of aliens. Because of this, he enters into a world full of conspiracy and treachery. He wonders how can he survive 3 more years when each new day is making him witness new threats. But, he still has to survive because his alien friends have shown him the glimpses of his fate. Arun sees a vision towards a better future that he knows he is capable of forging. This vision is called Human Legion.
The second installment of this series is called ‘Indigo Squad’. This book was published in 2015. Once again, Arun McEwan is depicted as the main lead. At the beginning of the story of this book, it is depicted that Arun McEwan boards the ship named Beowulf along with several other marines. But, unlike the rest of the Marines, he is ordered to join an enemy ship. Arun knows that he is going to survive being in the enemy camp because he has already been told about his destiny. Therefore, he does not fear boarding the enemy ship. However, there are certain factions, who will not stop at anything to fulfill their rival dreams for the future of humanity. As Arun gets isolated on the ship, which appears to be rocked by betrayal, mutiny, and murder, he realizes that he must make new alliances so as to survive the oncoming threats to his life. With this novel, the series moves ahead quite well. Author Tim’s depiction of characters and setting was highly appreciated by the readers and critics. He was praised for his dedicated efforts in coming up with this unique story.
