The Kensington publishers released this book in the year 2010. Author Myers has depicted the central characters in the plot as Eleanor Swift, Greg Hatcher, Wade, Katy, and Maddy. As the book opens, it is shown that Eleanor Swift is the owner of the a pizzeria called A Slicec of Delight, which is located in the small quiet town called Timber Ridge in North Carolina. One day, She discovers that a dead body is lying in her kitchen and from the evidences it appeared she was not made to look as the culprit in the murder. Later, the charge of the murder goes on the head of the victim’s own brother named Greg Hatcher, who works as a deliveryman at the pizzeria. The story that comes out is that Wade was trying to take away more share from the family inheritance and for this reason Gregg killed him. However, Eleanor has full faith in Gregg and believes that he is not the murderer. The other possible reason that the police believe Gregg had for killing his brother is that he had seen him smooching with his ex-girlfriend named Katy on the couch. Because of the clear motives, it was clear that no one else could have killed Wade and the police chief of Timber Ridge, who is also the ex-boyfriend of Eleanor Swift, sets himself on finding and arresting Gregg for his crime. In order to get to the bottom of the mystery, Eleanor begins to investigate on her own with the help of her sister named Maddy. She successfully finds out that the list of Wade’s enemies was quite large and each one had the motive to kill him. The mystery behind the murder case keeps on becoming more and more suspenseful with each passing day and if Maddy and Eleanor do not find out the killer of Wade soon, then Gregg won’t be able to prove his innocence and punished for someone else’s crimes. But, in trying to find the murderer, the sisters need be careful of their own safeties otherwise they might become the next victims.
Another intriguing murder mystery written by author Myers in this series is titled as ‘A Pizza to Die For’. It was released in 2011 and is once again set in Timber Ridge, North Carolina; featuring Eleanor Swift once again in the lead role. At the start of the book, Eleanor is shown looking after the business of her beloved pizzeria in Timber Ridge. She seems quite relaxed about the fact that things are going well in her restaurant and in her own life. But, when Judson Sizemoer arrives in town to start his own pizza parlor, Eleanor becomes worried about her own business. However, Judson’s life gets cut short when someone kills him in a gruesome manner. As the whole town knew that Judson had caused a ruckus in the life of Eleanor by opening his restaurant next to her’s, she and her sister Maddy become the prime suspects in his murder. Now, to prove their innocence the sisters begin to sleuth on their own. They come to know that the dough for Judson’s pizza parlor used to come from a resident recluse of Timber Ridge named Nathan Pane. He was a millionaire and the long lost uncle of Judson Sizemore. And it shocks Eleanor even more when she learns that someone is trying to kill Nathan too. The more they investigate, the longer the list of suspects grows. Maddy thinks that it was Judson’s greedy sister who killed him or her boyfriend. Eleanor has her plate full as she has to do the sleuthing as well as look after the business of her restaurant. As Eleanor begins to grow closer to finding out the killer, she finds that the killer has already set his plans in motion to kill her. Now, she is required to take each step carefully in order to prevent herself and her beloved sister from getting killed at the hands of the gruesome murderer and at the same time get him arrested for the murder of Judson.
