Tom Turner is a reputed writer from America, who is famous for writing crime, fiction, thriller, and mystery novels. He is particularly famous for writing the Charlie Crawford Mystery series. His mystery books have done very well and have helped him in establishing himself as a noteworthy author. Turner is a native of New England. After the completion of his college studies, he stayed in Vermont and was involved in running a bar for some time. He shifted to New York after a few years and started working in an advertising agency. Author Turner held the post of a copywriter in a number of advertising agencies in Manhattan and also won several awards for his work. After spending many years in this line of work, he decided to undergo a radical change and shifted his focus to commercial real estate. This job landed him in Palm Beach after several years, where he bought, renovated, and sold plots and houses. The place attracted him so much that he ended up writing mystery stories set in Palm Beach.

Turner developed the habit of writing stories on the side while continuing with his real estate work. And within a short span of time, he completed two Palm Beach novels and a screenplay called Underwater. So far, Turner has successfully completed 7 novels set in Palm Beach, all of which are widely popular. They have done a tremendous amount of business all over the world and have increased the popularity of Turner multiple folds. On one occasion, Turner visited Charleston, South Carolina in order to attend a wedding. He fell in love with the charm of the place so much that he decided to move there permanently. And just like he developed stories based in Palm Beach, Turner wrote a book called Killing Time in Charleston, which is set in Charleston. Author Turner is credited to have created the character of the main protagonist Charlie Crawford. He is seen living in New York and chasing murderers involved in high-profile cases. After dealing with a few murder cases in New York, Charlie moves south and joins the Palm Beach Police Department. After dealing with several petty criminals, he gets his first big case of a murder mystery in which the prime suspect is a billionaire. Turner is very much content with the amount of success his books have achieved. He is grateful to the readers for liking his books and giving excellent reviews for each one of them.

The Charlie Crawford Mystery series written by author Tom Turner is comprised of a total of seven books published between 2015 and 2019. Every book of this series features the chief protagonist in the role of Charlie Crawford. He is described as a native of New York, who moves to Palm Beach and joins its police department to deal with criminals, murderers, and other culprits. This series is also known by the name, Palm Beach series, because of its typical setting in Palm Beach. The debut book of the series is entitled ‘Palm Beach Nasty’. It was released by the Amazon Digital Services in 2015. Turner has mentioned the lead characters in the book as Darryl Bill, Nick Greenleaf, Dominica, Charlie Crawford, Misty, and Ott. The novel depicts Charlie Crawford working on his first case of murder after his transition from New York PD to Palm Beach PD. His decision of moving down south comes after years of dealing with high-profile killings and the splashing of his love life in New York.

After spending several months on petty crimes, Charlie gets his big break when he is the first one to arrive and witness a victim hanging from a tree. During the initial investigation, Charlie enlists the prime suspects as a bartender and a hedge fund billionaire. In the middle of this intriguing mystery is Charlie’s girlfriend Dominica, who is a beautiful lady and the owner of a gallery. Charlie’s partner in the investigation is the Fifty-one-year-old homicide detective named Mort Ott. As soon as the two begin to work on the case, they learn about another homicide case in the city. With 2 murders in less than a week Charlie Crawford is forced to think how this happened in Palm Beach all of a sudden after it has been homicide-free for the past 15 years. Nick Greenleaf is introduced as one of the prime suspects in the hanging man’s murder. He is 26 years old, hailing from Long Island, and having the real name Todd Tropez.

Nick has a charming personality and works as a bartender in Palm Beach under his new identity. He seems to have high aspirations, which lead to his involvement in a terrific plot and also thereby making him a prime suspect in the murder of Darryl Bill. While Ott and Crawford follow the trail of the murderer, they end up establishing a connection with Darryl’s sister Misty. Later, Charlie comes across Dominica, the half-sister of Misty and an undercover officer. Charlie tries to keep the two women safe with everything in his capacity while attempting to unravel a pedophile ring in the city. In addition to the action-packed sequences and violence in the plot, there are also wonderful elements of humor that keep the readers interested till the end. Every character in the story seems to be very well drawn. They appear quite engaging and help to carry the story forward. Author Turner appears to have described the police procedural in an excellent manner. He has set the plot at a good pace, with wonderful scenarios, engaging characters, and a thrilling storyline. All these factors led to the success of the book in all the places of its publishing.

The second installment of this series is called ‘Palm Beach Poison’. It was released in 2016 in the Kindle format. Turner has included the central characters in this novel as Vasily Zinoviev, Mort Ott, Dominica, Charlie Crawford, and several others. The book opens by introducing Vasily Zinoviev as a dangerous Russian man, who does not like to take no for an answer. His ruthlessness is evident from the brutal murder of a working girl while she was swimming in the pool of the Poinciana Club. He also gave a horrible death to the club’s president when he laid his eyes on him. The two murders made Vasily the most feared man in Palm Beach. He is known to get what he wants and doesn’t think twice before killing the ones who say no to him. Vasily Zinoviev resides in an oceanfront mansion worth $20 million. He and his brother are always surrounded by mistresses at his mansion. While investigating one of the murder cases in which Vasily is involved, Charlie Crawford comes across the Zinoviev brothers and realizes that they are too much for him to handle. But, he doesn’t back out. With the assistance of a deadly hitman, a vengeful former wife, and a rich businessman, Charlie hunts down Vasily and his team of deadly Russians.

   Is the Nick series done after 2 books? Man a wild place that Charleston….. and is Charlie Crawford also done now that he’s semi picked Dominica and bought a real car and forked over money for townhouse?
