Main character Grace Lisa Vandenburg is someone who likes to count. She likes to count the amount of letters in her name, the steps she takes on the way to the local cafe, the amount of seeds on her dessert, the amount of bites she will use to eat. She counts everything– in her mind, it’s the only way to make sure that there aren’t any surprises.

Seamus Joseph O’Reilly believes that Grace might do better without counting. While Seamus doesn’t count numbers or things, he does ‘count’ when it comes to her life. As they start off a new relationship, can she navigate her old habits and discover some way that she can change while also being who she is? Is there anything out there more chaotic than love? Join Grace as she finds out.

Henry is married to Caroline, but he’s ended that. Now he’s on his way to Noosa. By his side is Martha, Mercedes’ third grade teacher. But Caroline is also still in the mix. Not only has she decided to completely shred every suit Henry owns, but she’s decided to go after them.

Craig and Lesley have come by from next door to catch up on all of the tea about Henry and Caroline’s fight– which apparently lasted all night long. Janice is Caroline’s sister. She’s staying for the weekend so that she can look after the girls, which makes sense since she is the sensible one.

She’s a microbiologist and believes in the scientific method. She’s determined to make a life of her own now that she has gotten divorced from Alec. When Craig comes through the bedroom window and discovers Janice in her bed, Lesley comes in and Henry, Caroline and Martha make their way back from the airport in their own taxis. Then there’s Brayden the pizza guy.

Janice would be able to deal with all of that. When Alec decides to knock on the door, it appears that things are about to get a little more complicated. None of them could have predicted what was about to happen, and now all of them are going to have to roll with the punches.

Brilliant and funny, check out the book that the Saturday Paper called ‘Crisp and clever’ and that Who Weekly says is a ‘hilarious and romantic treat’.
