Tony’s writing career started when he could contribute to journals and writing on gardening editorials. Even though his grandfather did not manage to finalize his high school education, he was an insatiable reader. This was evident by the many scripts that Tony found in his closet. Tony could read some of the books and particularly the one that talked about robots, captivated him as he was curious to know what happens to them when they pass away since they are similar to human beings.
He is a skeptical reader who prefers the author seizing his thoughts until the end of the story. In other words he loves reading stories that do not bring boredom anywhere between the plotting. Tony explains that being a writer requires the engagement with the characters on a deeper level compared with that of the readers. He has successfully won several awards one of them being the South Carolina Fiction. The tale that contributed to this victory was enthused by his grandpa and the chronic illness that he suffers from. His initial story which was fantasy started as a way to persuade his son to read. From there he started developing other tales as he continued writing. Generally his stories revolve around the human state of living and what life has to offer. Almost fifty percent of his target audiences are the young adults since the tales are basically about making choices and battling with self-esteem. On the hand, he also writes stories for older adults where he gets an opportunity to use foul language.
One of the most captivating books from Tony Bertauski is The Annihilation of Foreverland. It is a fantasy tale that is about a young boy, Danny who comes across a girl in Foreverland. Foreverland is an island where teenage boys are kept together with older guardians who train them on how to discover that they are beneficial to other people. Initially, when the boys find themselves on the island, they are informed that it is a collision that took place. In order to restore their thoughts, they have to visit Foreverland. They are provided with anything they wish for including snacks and video games. The girl whom Danny meets has been visualized many times by Reed, Danny’s friend. Reed had earlier on talked about how he dreamt with the girl telling him not to go to Foreverland though he cannot recall her name. With this said he believes that the dream will come true and that he is not insane. Even though the teenagers are in the deserted location due to different incidents, they are all aware that the place is meant for coaching them to become useful individuals in future. However, their journey appears mysterious since the older children are not coping well as compared with the younger kids who seem to enjoy every stay in the island.
The room in which the coaching is performed is kept discreet. One of the teenagers declines to undergo the coaching. On the other hand, one of the enthusiastic boys end up engaging in every training. At the same time another weird girl troubles the visions of both boys. This compels Danny to find out exactly what is happening by utilizing his tactics. The tale’s encounter is further deepened by the newspaper’s commentaries which create room for separation for the sake of the reader. The book is difficult for the reader to guess the subsequent events which is a good way to capture the reading attention through the frequent surprises. The dilemmas presented in the tale makes the reader to think besides the character of any possible solutions which develops fascination. The conversations are also portrayed in an enchanting manner. The ending of the story is interesting leaving you with no suspense as is common with most writers’ books. The tale is a must-read for fiction lovers who enjoy working out mysteries whether on a faster or leisurely motion.
Another description of one of the outstanding novels of Tony Bertauski is the Claus: Legend of the Fat Man. It is a fairy tale of Santa Claus and is mainly fiction. The tale takes place when Santa together with his household decide to break history by becoming the first to visit North Pole. They are shocked to find out that the place has already been occupied and that technological improvement made it possible to discover the place a long time ago. Initially the tale started when the family went for an adventure in the surroundings of the arctic with the hope of accessing the North Pole. Sadly, a storm occurred that left the Santa’s household separated in different ways. Nicholas vanished amidst the catastrophe while attempting to find the escorts. Jessica and her son were all left alone. The elves particularly are one of the foremost people who have made their home in North Pole although they do face some difficulties. Claus and Jack are twin brothers who have entirely different character traits. Whereas Claus is a positive minded elf, Jack is somehow possessed with hard feelings most of the time.
Jack has managed to take control of the elves world where he is a totalitarian. In contrast, Claus is a pawn. The tale presents the family comedies that take place in the real world. It is a tale of remorsefulness, love and commitment. The description of the reindeers flying, the way Santa flies above the city buildings and how he is able to get into the chimneys is hilarious. The author clearly presents the characters whereby each of them plays a significant role whether it is a major one or a minor one. The theme of romance is also portrayed between Jessica and her spouse, Nicholas, in spite of the conflicts by the elves. The other couple, Tinsel and Jon, Nog and Merry have also present the idea of love. The book is not only great for the Christmas season, but also during other moments. It is a must-read for individuals who are young by choice and love hilarious tales.
