Tracy Sumner is a bestselling author of historical romance fiction from New York who loves to describe herself as a graphic design and marketing professional, author, and mother.

In her teenage years, she went to college and graduated with a journalism degree. She published Tides of Love her debut novel and the first of the Seaswept Seduction series of novels in 2000.

She would kick on from there to pen more than twenty-five works of fiction across contributions to series by other authors, collections of short stories, omnibuses, single-standing novels, and several series.

For her work, Sumner has won several awards including the Beacon, the Write Touch, and the National Reader’s Choice. She has also been a finalist for the likes of Reader’s Choice, HOLT Medallion, Rising Starts, and Heart of Romance awards.
Over the years, Tracy’s novels have been translated into Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Dutch.

When she is not penning her sensual stories in lush settings featuring complex characters she can usually be found watching college football, reading romance fiction, and snowboarding.

Sumner currently makes her home in the South but since she spent several years in New York she considers herself a New Yorker.

Sumner has been penning romance for years now even though publishing for her was a challenge just like for many of her contemporaries. Initially, she was a traditionally published author before she decided to embrace self-publishing which she has come to love.
She has always been a huge reader of romance fiction and hence it was not surprising that she would ultimately write in the genre.

While she has been a reader for the longest time, it was while she was in college that she made the decision to become an author after reading LyVyrle Spencer’s “Vows,” while on a college trip to the beach

She was hooked from that point on and began to read romance voraciously. She had been writing since she was in high school and opted to major in journalism in college as she intended to do something to do with writing.
Over the years, she has read the works of all manner of authors and just like anyone who reads, she happens to have a few favorite authors and books.

Her favorite novel is of course the classic work “Vows” and Judith Ivory’s “Dance.” Tracy Sumner has said that she loves Ivory’s work since she writes some of the most complex and cerebral stories.
She also likes indie authors Marie Force, and Bella Andre and older authors such as Elise Rome and Julie Anne Long.
