The Undead World series is a popular series of horror, apocalyptic, and science fiction stories. It is written by a reputed American writer named Peter Meredith. The series is comprised of a total of 10 novels and 2 novellas released between 2013 and 2018. Peter Meredith has set this series in a world filled with bad luck, terrorism, lust, corruption, etc. Due to the outbreak of a viral infection, mankind is brought to its knees and a majority of the human population infected by the deadly virus turn into undead. They begin to hunt the uninfected and spread horror everywhere. In such a time of misery, death, and difficulty, some of the survivors come together to fight against the undead and keep the people around them safe.

The stories of this series depict the survivors as fast, tough, strong, and ready to take up any challenge to overcome the horrors of the undead. Some of the primary characters created by Peter Meredith in this series include Neil Martin, Julia, Ram, Eric Reidy, Sarah Rivers, Cassandra, Sadie Walcott, Cassie, Jillybean, Nico, Ipes, Jazzy Blue, Joe Gates, Fred Trigg, Norman Halder, Eve, Brad Crane, Melanie Hewitt, Michael Gates, Anne Gates, Lindsey Caro, Captain James Grey, Azael, Deanna Russell, Veronica, Marybeth Gates, Joslyn Gates, Arlene, Duke Menis, etc. Every book offers a story of the struggle for survival, fear, unrelenting loneliness, gnawing hunger, hatred, and courage. The books of this series do not showcase happily ever after. Instead, it shows running for one’s life from sociopaths, ruthless hunters, sadistic ex-soldiers, and horrific zombies. This series’ novels have been appreciated far and wide. They are liked for their unique stories, excellent characters, mind-blowing plots, and overall interesting narrations. Peter Meredith received a lot of appreciation for his unique style of writing and for describing the story of zombies and undead in his own unique ways. The success of this series set the stage for the other novel series that Peter Meredith wrote in the later years of his career. Also, the success motivated him to write numerous other interesting books.

A very well known book of the Undead World series written by author Peter Meredith is entitled ‘The Apocalypse Executioner’. It was released by the Black Market Publishing in 2016. Peter Meredith has set the plot in Missouri. The book opens by depicting that following the war against the Azael, the people living in the Estes Valley become weakened. They retreat in the mountains and become isolated. With low supplies of ammo and fuel, Neil Martin bets everything in his possession in search of Jillybean. She was seen for the last time in the Missouri forests. Neil thinks that the little girl is capable of helping the survivors in having a new beginning. So, he hopes to find her as soon as possible and harness her genius in benefitting the valley. But, to his bad luck, Neil’s gamble fails and he feels an urgent need for more supplies. So, he asks two of his most trusted people to set foot into the dangerous world outside the valley and look for supplies. Accordingly, Captain Grey and Sadie embark on a journey along with a team of soldiers. But, they do not return for very long.

On the other hand, Jillybean spends months in loneliness. She seems haunted by the screams and mind-shaking explosions, thereby, wounding her psyche and leaving scars. She knows she can still function as her mind is as sharp as it has always been, but she worries about her grim and cold state. In her desperation to get back the love of her dear ones, Jillybean finds her way back to her people in the valley. However, she realizes that a lot has changed in the time she was away. Rumors about the murderous past of Jillybean have spread everywhere and numerous people have turned against her. Seeing her family in deep trouble and knowing that she has nothing more to lose, Jillybean agrees to take up another adventure. She makes a big gamble on her own life with the intention of helping her desperate family and doesn’t pay any heed to the ones who try to talk her out of the task.

Another excellent novel of this series is entitled ‘The Apocalypse Revenge’. It was published in 2017 by the Black House Publishing. Initially, it is mentioned that Jillybean considers moments of sanity and happiness as wonderful and fleeting. Being in the company of Granny Annie is one event that brings her the most happiness. But, after it ends quickly, Jillybean is again left to deal with loneliness and despair in her life. In her attempt to find a new family, Jillybean comes across an orphan named Chris, who is of the same age as her. She sees hope in Chris and discovers a new purpose in life. However, the purpose filled with extreme dangers and might end her life in the most unimaginable and horrific way. While continuing her adventure through the blood-filled streets of New York and Colorado, Jillybean gets the feeling that she needs to take revenge as soon as possible. She appears to be haunted by the fact she has sacrificed many loved ones in her quest to remain alive. But, what haunts her, even more, is that many of her enemies are still alive and many more have been created recently.

Later, Jillybean’s weapon goes missing, making her realize that revenge’s nightmare is about to turn into reality. She thrusts herself into the quest of saving Estes Valley from destruction. But, she keeps questioning her decision at every step and wonders if there are enemies actually killing people in Estes Valley or they are just the outcome of her imagination. And with more people getting killed every day, the residents of Estes Valley begin to see Jillybean as the nightmare and suspect that she might be the carrying out the killing. With this suspicion in their minds, the Estes Valley survivors start looking for ways to deal with Jillybean. They wonder who is the one capable of standing before her and challenge her wits and genius. This novel received the same appreciation and praise from the readers as all the previous books. Peter Meredith’s extensive character development and plot description attracted the readers the most and made them intrigued enough to complete the reading in one go. Its success added to the fame of Peter Meredith and made him an even more successful author.
