Uvi Poznansky
Uvi Poznansky was born in Israel, and earned her BA in Architecture and Town Planning from the Technion in Haifa, Israel. She practiced with an innovative Architectural firm, taking a major part in Home for the Soldier, a large-scale project. She writes with her paintbrush and paints with her pen.

When she moved to Troy, New York with her two kids and husband, she got a Fellowship grant and a Teaching Assistantship from the Architecture department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Here, she guided teams in various design projects and earned an MA in Architecture. Then, having taken a sharp turn in her education, she then earned an MS in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.

First she worked as an architect, then as a software engineer, software manager, software team leader, and a software consultant (with an emphasis on user interface for medical instruments devices). This whole time, she painted and wrote constantly, and exhibited in California and Israel. She also taught art appreciation courses. Her versatile body of work includes ceramic and bronze sculptures, watercolor and oil paintings, pen and pencil drawings, charcoal, and mixed media.

“A Touch of Passion”, her romance box set, won The Romance Reviews Readers’ Choice Awards in 2016.

Uvi’s debut novel, called “Rise to Power”, was released in the year 2013. Her work is from the historical fiction, thriller, and romance genres. She writes the “David Chronicles” series, the “Still Life with Memories” series, the “Ash Suspense Thrillers with a Dash of Romance” series, and the “Imaginata Children’s Books” series.

“Rise to Power” is the first novel in the “David Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2013. This is the story of David like you have never heard it ever before: from the king himself, who is telling the unofficial version. The one that he never allowed his court scribes to recount. In his mind, history is always written to praise the victorious, however at the last stretch of his illustrious life, he feels an irresistible urge to tell the full truth. David gives a fascinating accounting of his early years, culminating with a tribal coronation. His is a surprisingly modern memoir, even though it is rooted in ancient lore.

In era of cruelty, when destroying your enemy is deemed a sacred directive, the man that slayed Goliath finds a way to become larger than life. His hunt for a path to power leads him in ways that are scandalous, at times. Notorious for his contradictions, David is seen by other people as a gifted court entertainer, a cunning fugitive, a successful captain in Saul’s army, a traitor that leads a gang of felons, and a ruthless raider of neighboring towns that leaves no witnesses behind.

How does he view himself, during this first part of his life? With his hands stained with blood, can he discover an inner balance between conflicting drives: his determination to survive the conflict with Saul, and his ambition for the crown, and his longing for purity, for a touch of the divine. This is expressed so lyrically in his music and his psalms?

This novel is incredibly personable and engrossing, and offers a different perspective on what David’s entire life might have felt like. Uvi delivers a novel that is a deeply poetic endeavor and a refreshing point of view. Readers become held captive by the author’s poetic license and inspired by some of the revelations she makes into the life of David. The novel also features engaging writing, crisp dialogue, and a unique plot.

“A Peek at Bathsheba” is the second novel in the “David Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2014. David, against the backdrop of wars, raging within the land and without, grows into the mantle of leadership. Between his anointment as a tribal king and his anointment as the king of all of Israel, he uses his cunning, wisdom, and his own understanding of the forces from history, aiming for high ideals: uniting the nation, stopping the bloodshed, and bringing about peace and healing.

Having reached his peak, he falters by making a serious error that threatens to undo all his political success. It also threatens to cost him both the adoration of his people, also the sense of being sustained by a divine power. This error is the most torrid story of passion that has ever been told: his forbidden love for Bathsheba, followed by his attempt to cover up the subsequent scandal by shipping her husband, a man that serves faithfully in his army, to his death.

David’s use of modern language indicates this is no fairy tale. Instead, it is a tale that is happening right here and now. Hear his voice while he undergoes a profound change, realizing the full magnitude of his sin, and the curse that lurks over his whole future.

“The Edge of Revolt” is the third novel in the “David Chronicles” series and was released in the year 2014. David, who struggles to find the right balance between upholding justice and loving his sons, is silent when Amnon rapes Tamar, his daughter, and when Absalom lures Amnon to his death. Each of these crimes go unpunished, because a mysterious change has come on the king, which his court scribes make note of before he even does. In the past he was required to explain his actions, like the affair with Bathsheba, to them. Now, they are wanting to understand his lack of action, which is the opposite thing, in this case.

In families other than his, such things might be merely the matter of gossip. But when incest, assault, and murder happen in the king’s family, they impact matters of the state. He is toppled off of his throne, and has to escape from Absalom, the son that he adores.

Even while he finds a way to quiet the revolt and return to the City of David, the road ahead appears to be unclear. How is he going to locate the right successor among his remaining sons, the one that will connect to him and also continue his legacy?
