Verlene Landon is a USA TODAY bestselling author who was born and grew up in the South. Since she has been in the military, she has had the privilege of traveling all over the United States but now makes her home in Sin City.

While she was in the military, she had to endure forced road marches, survive tear gas chambers, and live grenades even though she still thinks publishing and writing are more brutal.
Verlene published “Ryder Hard” her debut novel in 2019 and has never stopped since. She now has more than a dozen works to her name spread across several series, collections, and contributions to series by other authors.

The author now calls herself a rabid Bama fan, zombie apocalypse enthusiast, serial grammar killer, word porn peddler, Manowarrior, and human canvas. Verlene is also a lover of all things Lemmy, the 80s, head-banging rock, and skulls.

She loves to communicate with her fans and readers through her newsletter, where she provides updates on upcoming works.

Growing up in Bellwood in a very rural part of southeast Alabama, Verlene Landon’s biggest role model was her sister.

It was with her sister that she would get introduced to storytelling as she used to tell her all manner of interesting tales when they were left at home all alone during the holidays.

She still loves to read novels and can often be found reading romantic suspense and general romance fiction. Now an adult, she has a preferrence for contemporary romance, even though she can write in any genre of romance.

Just like when she used to have no schedule when she was a child, she does not have a timeline like one would in a typical job. She loves to joke that her schedule is more like a multi-colored yarn after a dozen cats have been playing around with it for a week.

Still, Verlene Landon has said that there is nothing she would rather be doing than earning a living as a contemporary romance author.

Verlene Landon’s novel “Indelible You” introduces the characters Walker and Erika who are part of a group of very close friends. One of Erika’s best friends happens to be Walker’s sister, who she has been friends with for several years.

Walker is a tattoo artist who is known for looking at the world in terms of right and wrong and black and white. Landon writes a very unusual romance hero as he is a man that has trouble controlling his emotions and a former convict.

But that does not mean he is an abusive jerk or a misfit since everything he did was done with good intentions. About a year earlier, he realized that he had fallen for Erika but believed she is too good for him.

He thinks she does not have romantic feelings for him but he would pursue her if he had any indication that she did. Erika has fallen for Walker and intends to make her move.

When she does, Walker jumps at the chance and starts making his advances. Their relationship soon goes from friendly to steamy hot, just like an expensive sports car would take to go from 0-60 mph.

But everything goes haywire when Erika says something Walker is disgusted with when they are sleeping together. Walker is enraged and it does seem that their friendship and relationship is doomed.

Both parties blame themselves as Erika runs away and Walker loses control of his temper. Can Walker ever come to accept that not everything is black and white?

Verlene Landon’s novel “Brand Me” introduces Tori Reid who is not your usual kind of woman as her beauty is more athletic rather than delicate. She is over the moon when Richard her boyfriend invites her to take a three-month holiday.
