A successful novel series written by author Veronica Chambers is called Amigas. This series is comprised of 6 books in total, which were released between the years 2010 and 2011. Each and every novel of the series is set in Miami and features the lead characters in the form of Carmen, Alicia, Gaz, and Jamie. All these friends form a team and start the Amigas Incorporated, which is a Texas sized adventure. They use this new venture to throw quinceaneras for their friends and strangers. Such events are specially held for the Latina girls, who turn 15 years old. An initial book of this series is entitled ‘Lights, Camera, Quince’. It was published in the year 2010 by the Disney-Hyperion publication. Other than the 4 main characters of Gaz, Carmen, Jamie, and Alicia, the other important character that features in the plot is Sarita. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that the friends open Amigas on the official level of business. They decide to organize an amazing Quinceanera for a new friend named Sarita. As all of them have now become sophomores, things are expected to get a little complicated in the business of quince planning. Luckily for the friends, one among them is going to have her quince. As Carmen is about to turn 15, her friends are planning to throw a huge party for her. But, the element of drama is always expected to take place in Miami and it is exactly what happens. All the friends jump in to participate in a reality show that features Quinceanera parties when the group is approached by one. The show was meant to bring out the real colors of the participants, no matter how close they might be as friends. Just as the show starts, Gaz and Alicia end up fighting with each other. Carmen worries about her vows, while Jamie feels left out in all this drama. Later, they wonder whether they will be able to put their differences aside well within time for Carmen’s party or it will get caught up in the flames because of their egos.

Another excellent book published in the series is called ‘Playing for Keeps’. This book was also published by Disney-Hyperion publishers in 2011. At the beginning of the story of this book, it is depicted that after throwing several dozens of quince parties, the founders of Amigas Incorporated think of taking some time off and going on a vacation. They realize that in the process of planning parties for others, they forgot to make some plans for themselves for the Spring Break. So, when Alicia’s mother mentions that her friend is planning to throw a Quinceanera party for her daughter in Texas, the group thinks of using this opportunity for business as well as fun. Alicia seems very excited to meet the new client, while Carmen looks forward to spend some time with her distant cousins. Jamie hopes to watch her boyfriend participate in a huge gold tournament and Gaz feels excited to attend a big music concert and conference. As the friends think more about their respective plans, they fail to focus on their business. Alicia wonders whether she will be able to pull out the task or the business of Amigas Incorporated is going to suffer a big disappointment.
