Victor Methos is an American author of fiction. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan and knew that he had an interest in law ever since he was thirteen years old. His friend had the experience of being interrogated for over eight hours by police and it resulted in a confession to a crime that his friend never committed.
From that day on, Methos wanted to practice criminal law. Methos abandoned a potential career in boxing and studying philosophy to go to school to become a defense lawyer instead. He graduated law at the University of Utah and wanted to learn all that he could about practicing law in real life. He worked at a practice that had light-up signs at the front and that would do what they could to win cases.
After that, he worked in Salt Lake City as a prosecutor for a time and then moved on to found his very own law firm. It did well and would go on to be very successful. He has argued for his clients in over a hundred trials in the course of a decade and only lost two of those.
When Methos was on a case with a father that had shot the rapists that attacked his daughter, he could not get the story out of his mind. He thought that he had to get it out on the page. It was the inspiration for his bestselling novel, The Neon Lawyer. The book was released to the public in 2013 and is the first novel in the Brigham Theodore series, followed by the sequel Mercy. Since then, he has written about legal thrillers more often and releases about two books a year in the genre.
Victor Methos is not just a star lawyer but also the author of the fictional series of novels, The Jon Stanton Series, which focuses on a police detective in San Diego named Jon Stanton. He has also written several other series of fiction as well as standalone novels.Methos resides in both S.L.C. and Las Vegas and continues to write as well as work full-time as a lawyer defending his clients.
The first novel in the Jon Stanton series is called The White Angel Murder. This exciting thriller novel features Jon Stanton and a killer that is conducting the most vicious murders that a city has ever seen in its entire time of existing. When a murderer is making their way around the city of San Diego, the murders are starting to tally up, and the people in the city are spooked.
The killer is on the loose and targeting women that exist on the very edge of society. But when a young woman is attacked in her bedroom and torn apart in her own home, the San Diego Police Department sees red. Even the most hardened of police detectives are affected by the case and all of them vow to do whatever they can to catch the killer and bring them to justice.
Jon Stanton is a homicide detective with the S.D.P.D. and has a troubled past. To him, the case involving the brutal killing of this young woman is way more than just another typical case. His former partner was even the detective that was originally assigned to the case and also was the killer at the same time. The killer was confirmed to be one of the most ruthless serial killers the city has ever known.
For Stanton, this is way more than just another job. This is a personal case as Eli Sherman was a killer that was standing and operating right under his own nose and he couldn’t see Sherman for what he was, As a result, Jon blames himself for the people that were killed by Eli while they were on the force. Stanton swore that he would never be a police detective again when he was sick and near death.
He may have cause to recall that oath as he seeks one final chance at getting redemption. Now might finally be Eli’s chance to make up for what he feels that he messed up and finally right those wrongs. Stanton is forced to put on the badge once more as one of the best that the police department of San Diego has to offer to catch a killer whose depravity knows no bounds.
Can Stanton get a final chance at redemption and catch the killer? Or will this serial offender slip through his fingers once more? The chase is personal, but Stanton is not guaranteed to come out on top. After all, he’s dealing with someone that he knows well, and vice versa. Will he be the hunter or the prey? You’re going to have to pick up this exciting book to find out!
Walk In Darkness is the second book in the Jon Stanton detective series by bestselling author Victor Methos. When an executioner finds himself in the grip of a frenzy where he is finding pleasure in the killing of individuals that could qualify as the most vulnerable, things are definitely at a heightened level. The killer calls himself The Sandman. Just like that, Stanton is called back into a world that he thought he left behind.
Detective Jon Stanton solved one of the toughest cases in the history of the city, and now he is back for another case. That case found him in the middle of one of the biggest corruption scandals in memory. Now he is trying to get on the more decent side of things but keeps getting called back into service to deal with killers.
It’s up to Jon Stanton to catch The Sandman and end the killing once and for all But even this seasoned police detective may have finally met his match. This killer is smart and more cautious than some of the more brazen killers. He’s clever enough to avoid leaving evidence and worse, is interested in anyone that comes after him. The Sandman thinks that Standon may be his equal– but can Stanton survive the encounter? Pick up Walk in Darkness to find out!
