Victoria Alexander is a New York Times bestselling novelist and a former television reporter from the United States, who is known for writing historical romance and fiction novels. She began her professional career as a reporter and after working for several years she discovered her interest in fiction. Eventually, she gave up her television career only become a full time writer of fiction novels and was shocked to find out that it worked for her quite well. Author Victoria was born in the year 1965 in Washington, DC. She wrote and published her first book in the year 1995. Since then, Victoria has written a total of 31 full length books and novellas. One of her books, The Perfect Wife, became number one in the list of the bestselling novels by the NY Times. It was originally released in 1996 and was republished in 2008. As many as 16 of her novels are bestsellers, hitting the USA Today, Publishers Weekly, and NY Times bestseller lists. All of Victoria’s books have been translated into over a dozen foreign languages throughout the world. This has helped author Victoria in reaching out to a vast number of readers all across the globe. Victoria has been nominated for the prestigious RITA Award by the RWA on two occasions. In 2009, she was awarded with the Career Achievement Award and was also labeled as Historical Storyteller. In 2008, Victoria was invited as a keynote speaker at the annual conference of RWA in San Francisco. She likes to give the credit of her successful writing career to the vast amount of experience she gained while working as a journalist. Victoria’s career in broadcast journalism was spent in two different areas of America: West Virginia and Nebraska. In West Virginia, Victoria was employed to cover man-made and natural disasters. There, she covered a number of important events such as journalists held hostage by a Vietnam veteran, accident during the construction of a power plant, coal miners getting trapped inside a mine, etc.

While working in Nebraska, Victoria reported about farm crisis and about people losing their family land to various government projects. She was even involved in an investigative work that led her to expose the trucking of NYC garbage to a place in rural Nebraska. Throughout the course of her reporting career, Victoria covered presidents starting from Ford and up to Clinton. Victoria has even interviewed several film stars such as Kevin Costner. She was highly dedicated towards her work as was honored by many organizations. The Associated Press even went on to describe her as a storytelling genius. This served as an encouragement for Victoria while shifting from journalism to fiction writing. She claims that her liking for journalism and romance is because of the influence of her most favorite character from comic books, Lois Lane, who was a terrific reporter herself and a lovely heroine that chased Superman with great determination. While growing up, author Victoria lived in many places because of having a background in the Air Force. But now, she resides in Omaha, Nebraska along with her loving husband and a few pet dogs. Author Victoria has been living with her pets for a very long time now. During her spare time, she likes to spend time with them and care for them. Victoria seems quite satisfied with the way her life and career has shaped up in all these years. She looks forward to writing many more romance and historical novels before she calls it a day.

One of the most successful book series written by Victoria Alexander is called The Effington Family series. This series is comprised of 11 books in total, which were released between the years 1999 and 2005. Each of the books of this series revolves around the life stories of the members of the Effington family in England and take place during the early 19th century. The debut novel of this series is entitled ‘The Wedding Bargain’. It was released by the Harper Collins in the year 1999. Author Victoria has set this book’s story in London, England, United Kingdom, in the year 1818. The main characters described in the novel include Pandora Effington and Maximillian Wells. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Maximillian Wells, Trent’s Earl, could not believe his eyes or ears after seeing Pandora Effington. She appeared as an unattainable, beautiful, and the most scandalous beauty. Maximillian believed that the fiery Pandora Effington would be a perfect bride for him. And he becomes surprised when she makes him an offer for marrying. She tells him that if he wishes to take her hand as well as the whole of her beautiful body, he will have to agree to play a game. Maximillian showed the determination to win the game and Pandora’s heart. She had been longing for a real hero for the past seven seasons, but was left cold by each and every eligible bachelor from London. But, Maximillian looked to be different. His first touch made her shiver from within and she realized that he is the perfect man for her. But, she needs to find out whether Maximillian is willing to put everything at risk to prove his worth.

Another exciting book written by Victoria in the series is called ‘Her Highness, My Wife’. This book was released by the Avon publishers in 2002. The primary characters introduced by Victoria in this book include Matthew Weston and Tatiana Pruzinsky. Once again, the plot takes place in London in 1819. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Lord Matthew Weston enjoyed the company of many women in his life and none of them were able to reject him. But, he was looking for someone whom he could proudly introduce as his wife. He had found one such woman, but on the next day of their marriage, she left her and was nowhere to be found. Matthew was so heartbroken by this act of the woman that he vowed to remove her from his thoughts forever. However, he did not know that the woman he had married was a royal princess named Tatiana Pruzinsky. Later, Tatiana comes back in his life and asks for his help. Before helping her out, Matthew wonders whether this is yet another mind-game by her. He makes it clear to her that he can give his hand to her, but he will let his heart fall for her again. As Matthew finds himself in the company of Tatiana again, he intends to tame her and make her willing to stay with him forever. He wishes to make Tatiana, his passionate bride, but feels sad to know that she does not have any such intentions.
