Victoria Denault is a renowned author from America known for writing sports fiction and romance novels. She is particularly famous for writing the Hometown Players series. Author Denault is fond of ocean air, cinnamon Dolce latte, the music of the seventies, strong heroines, flawed heroes, and kalimotxos. She had developed an interest in hockey from a very young age and an avid fan of this sporting activity. Denault says that she wanted to become a writer from the time of her teenage years. She has resided in numerous major cities all across North America. Author Denault has spent the days of her childhood in Maine as she liked the summers there. When she grew up, she went on to live the summers in the exotic locations in Spain. As of today, she is happily married and settled in Los Angeles. Denault lives along with her loving husband and a couple of chubby Chihuahuas named Belle and Gus. She says that she was influenced to take up writing as a career after going through the popular works of some prominent writers like Christopher Pike, SE Hinton, Joss Whedon, Anne Rice, etc. Author Denault is represented by a literary agent named Kimberly Brower from the Brower Literary agency. A favorite gift of Denault from her childhood is a 1930s typewriter that was gifted to her by her parents. Author Denault holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in the subject of English. She has also obtained a graduate diploma in the field of Journalism. Author Denault has taken courses in screenwriting and creative writing at the UCLA Extension. Before the beginning of her writing career, she has worked for a number of other professions, including working as a cheerleader, stand up comic, reporter, actor, editor, and an advertising and marketing executive. Denault was born in Quebec, Canada, and was brought up in Montreal. As the game of hockey is considered a religion in these places, she too developed a liking for this game. And as she grew older, her liking turned into a passion. Denault has written humor and editorial pieces on the NHL for a blog. Her articles have been picked up by the Vancouver Canucks and Yahoo Sports.

Each book of this series features a different set of primary characters, set around the world of hockey. An initial book of the series is entitled ‘Making a Play’. It was released by the Forever Yours publication in the year 2015. The main characters mentioned by author Denault in this book’s story include Luc Richard and Rose Caplan. The story takes place in Silver Bay, Maine. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Luc Richard is NHL’s hottest player. But, his hotness has nothing to do with his hockey skills. The tabloids are set on fire by Luc’s racy relationship with a former supermodel girlfriend, and this has put his career on thin ice on two occasions. Now, in order to avoid getting traded, Luc Richard takes the decision of taking a break. He keeps himself away from women and from the spotlight. Luc’s decision of spending the off season in his Silver Bay homes looks to a perfect plan until he gets reconnected with Rose Caplan. As a woman, Rose has been sweet, safe, and shy for very long, and now she has grown tired of it. Rose seems ready for some romance and passion in her life. And as she has loved Luc Richard for a long time, she has finally made up her mind to make him realize that she is not the same innocent girl he knew her to be. And if he is honest with his intentions, then there is only lady who excites him, Callie Caplan. The two had shared a passionate night some time ago and then Callie disappeared, making it clear that they should pretend nothing has happened between them. Callie Caplan is not as wild as people think her to be. She agrees she has not indulged in any relationship so far, but this is only because she knows crazy love can turn out to be. Also, Callie understands that her imperfect, messy life already very crazy, even when she is not having a man to share her love with. However, when fate plays a game and brings Callie and Devin together, she cannot help but embrace it. Even Devin Garrison feels that he needs Callie in his life at the moment as much as she needs him. Now, Devin is ready to convince Caplan that her feeling about him is real and he too is going through the same for her. He also makes her understand that this might be their final chance at making things better for themselves.
