Victorine E. Lieske was born in a small town in Nebraska in 1972. Her parents who were huge fans of genealogy named her after Victorine DeVilbis, her ancestor.
Growing up, her parents loved to call her Vicki, which usually changed to Victorine Elizabeth whenever she was in trouble. This is how she came to dislike her full name and it was only until she was older and realized its uniqueness that she appreciated it.
She went to Ricks College in Idaho to study Art and got married to Charles her husband in 1995. Lieske published her debut novel “The Overtaking” in 2011 and has never looked back since. She now has more than two dozen novels and several novellas to her name.
She currently makes her home in Seward and runs a stamp business in which she is lead designer and manufacturer of stamps alongside her husband. In 2012, she published “How to Find Success Selling eBooks,” which provides advice on how to succeed and become a New York Times bestselling author just like she did.
Prior to becoming a New York Times bestselling author, Victorine E. Lieske led a very busy entrepreneurial life. She had always loved reading and thought she would one day love to become a published author but just never had the time.
One ordinary day, she injured her back trying to get her daughter out of her car seat and had to spend at least a week in bed while she healed. During this time, she was running her rubber stamp business from her home in Nebraska.
Since she could not move around much, she had to put the business on hold. It was then that she thought why not try to write a novel and with a laptop on her knees, she started writing the manuscript for what would become “Not What She Seems,” her debut novel.
By the end of the week, she had finished writing the first draft. However, it would take more than four years of attending workshops before she felt she was confident enough to publish. Victorine was surprised when the book hit Amazon and not long after became a bestseller with more than 100,000 copies sold in just a few weeks.
Just like many authors who decide to go the indie route, Victorine E. Lieske initially believed she should try the traditional route to publishing. She submitted the manuscript for her debut novel to more than eight agents and decided to self publish as this seemed an easier route.
The decision to go indie followed a lot of research on submission procedures and what agents looked for. After researching for a while, she did not like the odds of getting an agent and the odds of getting a publishing contract were even worse.
Once one got published, the odds of even selling a thousand copies seemed even more remote. Based on that information, she knew the probability of making it in the traditional publishing world was not very good.
What she particularly hated about traditional publishing was the fact that her book could go out of print for several weeks if the publishing house failed to properly anticipate sales.
When she read about the success of authors such as Karen McQuestion and Joe Konrath on Kindle, she thought why not give it a go. Once her novel hit Amazon, the rest as they say is history.
Victorine E. Lieske’s novel “Accidentally Married” is the story of aspiring actress Madison Nichols. She is not in a good place as her rent is due and all is in desperate need for a job. After she was informed that Jameson Technologies had an open position, she dashes there to meet Jared Jameson the CEO.
Unfortunately, there is a misunderstanding and she learns that she had agreed to become his pretend girlfriend. It turns out that Jared the CEO got what he wanted by lying to her and now she wants to get back at him. Jared is stunned when out of the blue, Madison tells his family that they are engaged to be married.
It seems she took his treachery badly and now he doesn’t know how to tell his family that the engagement is a lie. His aunt wants to witness their marriage before she dies and Madison decides to stage a fake wedding and hire a fake actor.
What none of them know is that Jared’s father has somehow learned of the fake wedding and has something up his sleeve.
“Reluctantly Married” by Victorine E. Lieske is the story of Megan Holoway, a woman who has never liked Adam Warner, her local morning show co-host. The handsome Warner always goads her on air making her say things she regrets.
Whenever they have an on-air fight, the ratings skyrocket and hence the producer always encourages Warner’s behavior. When they invite a relationship specialist to the set he says that Adam has feelings for her.
She reluctantly agrees to date him on camera, but what started as one date becomes a viral dating show with Adam and Megan alternating between knocking heads and locking lips. Megan is fighting her growing attraction to Wagner but their popularity only keeps rising until ABC offers them their own program.
This is not a morning show which is what Megan wanted, but rather a dating show that they would like to end in a wedding between the two of them. They have been promised a thousand dollars and the possibility of being granted a national program.
What she does not know as she signs is that Adam has fallen for her and intends to make her fall in love with him.
Victorine E. Lieske’s novel “Mistakenly Married” is the story of Penny that has once again managed to get herself into another crazy mess. She is about to be evicted and could not be any more broke.
She gets a lifeline when her boyfriend tells her they should elope and since she loves him she agrees. The catch is the two have never met even as they blow their money on a Las Vegas wedding.
But then William fails to pick her up and she decides to take a limo they had already paid for anyway only for the driver to pick up a smoking hot guy. William is a trust fund baby that has been told that the only way he is going to get access to the money in his trust fund is by getting married.
There is a mixup and he ends up exchanging cheap vows with a spirited girl named Penny at the Chapel O Love. He realizes his mistake too late but manages to convince her to head back with him to Bel Air so that he can show his father that he is now a married man. What could go wrong?
