Author Vincent Zandri is published both in America and in foreign countries, having been translated into other languages. He graduated from Vermont College with an MFA in writing. The New York Times wrote a major feature about Zandri as well, and he has made some appearances on FOX News and Bloomberg TV. Zandri also been published in different magazines with his photojournalism and writes a popular lit blog that is called “The Vincent Zandri Vox”. He lives in both Florence, Italy as well as New York.
Zandri has written the “Dick Moonlight PI” novels, the “Chase Baker” series, and the “Jack Marconi” series. His novels have made their way onto the New York Times, Amazon Kindle, and USA Today bestseller list. He has also become a bestseller for Amazon with his short stories.
One of his stories came to him, in the nineties, when he was helping an ex-guard at a prison was writing his memoirs and came across a great idea for a story from it. The ex-guard may not have even wrote the memoirs, but it helped Zandri get his career going as the novel sold well, as did his next two books.
Then he decided to recharge and take some time away from writing novels. When he came back, he went to a small time publisher and the next two books did very well. The first book did very well due to Zandri’s abillity to self-promote his work, and it got reviewed very well. The second of these novels showed how versatile he could be as a writer.
“Moonlight Falls” is the first book in the “Dick Moonlight PI” series that was released in 2013. This novel is set in Albany, New York. Dick Moonlight, a former APD detective who becomes a massage therapist and private investigator, believes that he killed his illicit lover (Scarlet Montana) and wife of his ex-boss Jake Montana. Jake was the chief of detectives. The biggest problem with everything is that Moonlight does not remember what happened. He has a bullet fragment lodged in his brain as a result of a suicide attempt that results in seizures and blackouts.
Fans of the novel enjoyed the main character of the novel Moonlight and foound that he was well drawn. No matter what he did, good or bad, you always rooted for him. The novel’s plot twists and turns that you will be on your toes the entire time. You will be left guessing what will happen next the entire time you are reading the novel. You will be entertained by the novel and will be hooked by the writing. Some became fans of Zandri’s after reading this novel.
“Moonlight Rises” is the second book in the “Dick Moonlight PI” series that was released in 2012. A bunch of thugs in Obama masks in an alley in downtown Albany give Dick Moonlight a beating that is supposed to send him to the Pearly Gates. The real trouble starts though when his spirit goes back to his bruised body. He is a private detective with a short term memory problem, but he stills knows that he is in danger. There are plenty of people that could want to mess him up and good; even Lola is not to be trusted. Lola of course being Moonlight’s current woman. It turns out the goons want Moonlight’s client, a nuclear engineer who is handicapped. He had a box (top-secret) that the thugs believe Moonlight had in safekeeping for the guy. He may have it, but he does not remember whether he does or not. Moonlight is going to have to find such a thing before they try to kill him again.
Fans of the novel enjoyed the twists and turns that this one had waiting for them, and you will be wondering what happens next and if Moonlight is going to be alive long enough to figure everything out. Some enjoyed reading all the humorous parts that Zandri threw in. He makes you feel like you are a part of things, like a fly on the wall. This is a great series for fans to follow and for those who are new to Zandri’s writing. The novel does not just go only in the mystery thriller genre.
“Blue Moonlight” is the third book in the “Dick Moonlight PI” series that was released in 2012. Moonlight has hit some problems in his life. His bar burnt down, he has been spending a lot of time with Jack Daniels, his business is going slow, and Lola left him for another man. It gets worse for him, because he finds himself in a plane that is about to crash and he is cuffed to an FBI agent. He gets to the ground with bruises and bumps, and he is headed to FBI headquarters for, he thinks, drunk dialing the IRS. But it is actually headed there because the last case he worked on, that involved the Russian mob looking for a zip drive with government secrets, is still open. The cop that was supposed to bring the goods to the FBI became bent. Him, along with a crooked agent, and Lola are out to sell said goods to the highest bidder. The FBI is hoping that Moonlight can help them track the three down. It will take him all the way to Florence, Italy, and he will have to woo Lola into giving over the zip drive.
Fans of the novel got caught up into the story right away and has a bunch of engaging characters that keep things moving really well. Some find that it will entertain and intrigue those who read it. This novel is a great way to spend some reading time. Some found that this novel is a throwback to the detective novels from the forties and fifties. “Blue Moonlight” will keep readers flipping pages long into the wee hours of the morning. Zandri’s ability to write is loved by those who read his books, and they have become big fans who cannot wait for him to release something new.
He has won the PWA Shamus Award and ITW Thriller Award for Best Paperback Original, both in 2015.

Sir, why are there two “like” sets of Dick moonlight novels?
One is the order it was published. The other is the chronological order – the timeline of the books.
