Vivi Anna is a Canadian author that goes by the pen name of Tawny Stokes.

She enjoys writing her own original type of fantasy. Her stories could be set in any place and any time. Whether they are in the setting of old Egypt or in the future with a total apocalypse, this author loves to let her imagination run free.

She confesses that she enjoys writing action and adventure. She also prefers to write female characters that are not only strong but independent too. They are fully capable of defending themselves and even taking on a fight. She really likes to write heroes that are tall, dark, and handsome.

Anna really loves writing her stories and paranormal romance in particular. When she is not busy writing, you could find this artist eating downtown in a bistro, visiting a flea market, or even at a playground having fun.

Vivi Anna wrote the fictional Valorian Chronicles. These romantic paranormal books kicked off in 2007 with the release of Blood Secrets. The second book in the series is titled Dark Lies. There are a few more installments in this series and the fifth story was released in 2010 (titled The Vampire’s Kiss). Blood Secrets is the debut novel in the Valorian Chronicles. Vampire story fans will probably be overjoyed to start out reading this story, which introduces the reader to Caine Valorian.

Caine runs a crime unit of the otherworld and together his team works to take on new cases and crack them before the human beings living everywhere are able to notice them. They kind of fix the problem before it becomes a problem. That is their job and it is also what helps to keep them all safe.

Things take a turn for the unexpected when suddenly a woman is found dead. She was young, which always garners a little more notice. It’s clear that she has been murdered, but what is also a little more unusual is the fact that it’s been ritually done. Now it is up to Caine Valorian and his O.C.U. professional team to try and do what they can to run damage control.

The team not only has paranormal gifts, they are also doing whatever they can to try and keep humans from finding out about this killer before they go crazy about it. Meanwhile, they must also do what they can to focus their efforts on an evil without a name that is making its way through the streets.

Caine is quickly discovering that this just might be the most difficult case that he has ever come up against in the course of his career. This is saying something, as Valorian has been doing this for about two hundred years. But the situation may just yet grow more complex when a new professional joins the team.

Eve Grant is their latest member and has been assigned to this unit. She may be young and green to the game, but what she lacks in experience she makes up for in dedication and enthusiasm. She’s willing to learn and wants to do her job and impress. She also happens to be something that the OCU is not accustomed to– a human being.

The professionals are doing what they can to tackle this case and try to get some leads so that they can solve this thing once and for all. Caine is definitely attracted to Eve, but her allure is such that anyone would be. Still, the chemistry that he feels for her is starting to really get to him.
