Wendy Holden is a bestselling American novelist, journalist, and ex-war correspondent. She is well known for writing romance and general fiction stories and has penned more than 30 books in her career. Some of her most popular works include the novels of the Royal Outsiders series and the Laura Lake series.

Additionally, Holden has written several single novels, a few novellas, and some short stories. Sometimes, Holden is also referred by her pen name Taylor Holden. She known to have written some mind-blowing under this pseudonym as well. Author Holden born in Cleckheaton, Yorkshire, The UK. Currently, she resides in Suffolk, England.

The book that helped her to achieve the bestselling status for the first time is called Born Survivors. This book tells the story of 3 young moms and their extraordinary tale of defiance, courage, and survival. It also succeeded in entering the list of finalists by Goodreads. Holden managed to publish this novel in more than 20 countries and achieved fame and popularity in each of those countries.

In addition to writing under her original name, Holden has served as a ghostwriter for writing the autobiography of Captain Tom Moore. Sir Derek Jacobi was chosen to read the audiobook version of the autobiography. Author Holden is known to have achieved the feat of having over 50 percent of her books as bestsellers.

Many of her works have been adapted into television and radio shows and as many as 4 of her novels have been optioned for movies. Before taking the decision of making a career in the field of writing, Holden served as a journalist for 18 years. She received many accolades for dedication in journalism with a special commendation for deciding to serve as a war correspondent.

Author Holden arrived at the scene of publishing with the book called The Sense of Paper. This Random House publication became an instant hit and achieved worldwide critical acclaim. Most of the nonfiction works of Holden chronicle the lives of some remarkable subjects. These include survivors of concentration camps, socialist workers, courageous mothers, young soldiers, Alzheimer’s defeaters, popular actors & actresses, etc.

Holden spent her earlier years growing up in Yorkshire. She completed her graduation from Girton College in Cambridge with a bachelor’s degree in English literature. Immediately after, Holden started working for magazines. After years of hard work and dedication, she moved on to join the Tatler’s as its deputy editor in 1997.

A few years later, Holden switched over to You Magazine. It was while working here that she decided to focus on her writing career full time and left her journalism career completely in 2000. However, Holden continues to write features for magazines and newspapers even today. She manages to take out some time from her busy schedule to write pieces for magazines/newspapers on a variety of subjects such as topical, lifestyle, and social.

Holden feels that this work makes her not to forget her roots and understand the value of hard work that helped her to reach where she is today. Holden even contributes to radio and TV regularly. Author Holden is happily married and resides with her lovely family in England. It gives her great pleasure to know that her books have sold over 2 million copies worldwide. And the fact that her books have been used as curriculum in school apart from being adapted into different art forms is a matter of great pride for her. Holden has succeeded in releasing her books in 22 countries and translating them for non-English readers across 16 countries. Author Holden claims that she learned many things about life during her time in the Middle East, Northern Ireland, and Communist Europe, where she was sent to cover the hostile environments.

An amazing series written by author Wendy Holden is known as the Laura Lake series. It began in 2017 and features the lead character in the role of Laura Lake. The debut book of this series is entitled ‘Laura Lake and the Hipster Weddings’. It was released by the Head of Zeus publication in 2017. This book opens by mentioning that Laura Lake wishes to become a journalist.

All her hard work in joining a reputed news agency goes in vain and she ends up settling for an intern’s job for a glossy magazine. Laura is barely able to manage things and finds it difficult to keep struggling. She needs a big break and when it finally comes her way, she grabs the opportunity with both hands.

So, she makes up her mind to enjoy the golden sands and glittering sea instead.

Shortly after, Laura comes to know that there are a few dark secrets hidden at the hi-tech, 7-star comfort. She becomes determined to get her hands on the secrets before the rival journalists get even a sniff of it.
