Each and every novel of this series features the chief protagonist in the role of Saddie Novak. This paranormal mystery series shows Saddi Novak as a professional cleaner of crime scenes and an amateur sleuth. As the series progresses, a number of other important characters get added to the series, which play equally important roles as compared to Saddie Novak. The debut novel of the series entitled ‘The Remains of the Dead’. It was released by the Obsidian publication in the year 2007. Author Wendy has set this book’s story in the US and has described the lead characters as Zack Bowman, Trudy Toth, Grant Toth, Kent, and Saddie Novak. At the start of the book’s story, it is shown that Saddie Novak owns a cleanup company called Scene-2-Clean that deals in cleaning crime scenes. This kind of job seems like killing the cocktail chatters dead. To add the spookiness of her job, Saddie Novak learns that she has the ability to talk to the victims’ ghosts and also see them. The recent case of cleaning arrives on her desk when the grieving relatives of Grant and Trudy Toth hire Novak and her employee named Zack Bowman to do the cleanup after their suicide-murder. Zack is a former cop and is quite efficient in his work. With this new job, Saddie is certain that she is going to find a chatty ghost. At the crime scene, the first person that Saddie Novak comes across is a man named Kent. As the events in the case unfold, Saddie and Kent end up getting close to each other and going on dates. Eventually, Saddie meets the real ghost as per her expectation, and it is none other than Trudy Toth. This silent spirit seems very much determined to prove that she was not killed by her husband and then her husband was innocent. Also, she informs that Grant did not commit suicide either. Trudy’s ghost even inspires Saddie Novak to go on the trail of the real murderer and track him down. And as Saddie moves deeper into the mystery of this case, she realizes that she has much more at hand than she had expected and that Kent is somehow connected to the deceased couple. Someone keeps bothering Saddie to give up the investigation and threatens her with her life. But, she is not someone to back out so easily. Saddie Novak makes up her mind to not rest until she has caught the real killer.

Another mind blowing written by Wendy is called ‘Dead Suite’. This book was released in the year 2013 by the InterMix publication. The main characters of this book include Saddie Novak and Zack Bowman. The story takes place in Seattle, Washington, United States. At the beginning of the story of the book, it is depicted that Saddie Novak continues to explore her second sight gift and at the same time working as a crime scene cleaner. Because of her unique gift, Saddie feels that her blessing sometimes feels more of a curse as the ghosts keep popping up every now and then whenever she tries to concentrate on her work. In the recent times, Saddie’s business has been progressing at a slow pace. She has been finding it difficult to keep up with the installments of her mortgage payment. Also, Saddie Novak’s relationship with her on again off again boyfriend and co-worker Zack Bowman hangs in the balance. All these things make Saddie tensed with a lot of tension. She wishes to get rid of anything, if not stop thinking about them for some time. A good way to do so is to get herself a drink and rejuvenate herself. Later, Saddie Novak comes to know that several women are getting murdered in fancy hotels. This causes a recent boom in her business and she finds herself back to the working mode again. The posh hotels give the feel of nicer accomodations to Saddie than the usual crime locations. However, it does not much time for the perks turning to peril as Saddie Novak’s gets caught in the web of the killer. Saddie understands it very well that she needs to uncover the identity of the Slaher in Seattle before she ends up becoming the next victim herself.
