The Wicked witches of the Midwest mystery series written by Amanda Lee, who is the author of 11 books with different series is a story about curse, sarcasm, adventure, mysteries, love, murder and witchcraft. Starring Bay Winchester the editor of Hemlock’s Coves a small daily newspaper who thinks that her small hamlet’s upcoming murder mystery weekend is going to be all about fun, food and frolicking. But another dead body is discovered in Hemlock Cove, which Bay investigated. As the story goes on in every book, Bay faces new and different kind of adventures that unleash her descended witch blood.

Hemlock Cove

Hemlock’s Cove is a small town where a corpse was found in an area corn maze, wherein the police believes that the behind the murder is a mystery of occult. Until then, on the next series, several murders still happens which the main character, Bay Winchester investigated thoroughly to find the murderer.

The Adventure and the Murders

The murders take the plot of each series somewhere from adventures to mysteries, love and forgiveness. Without the murders there might not be an adventure on the town of Hemlock Cove. As the story of the book goes by, there appears a different conflict that makes Bay-the lead character brave and smart enough. Each book of the Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mysteries Series shows separate attitudes and tones of life, whether it is for the living or for the dead.

A story for the whole family

This book is full of sarcasm and is a little bit snarky- so read if you like to laugh and isn’t easily offended. Bay Winchester’s family of witches, stands in the strongest opportunity to settle in town, but apparently, it is always the opposite that happens. Wicked witches of the Midwest Mystery Series; shows the strong ties in a family that never give up. And each book dignifies strong love for a family member; such as in Witching on a Star Book 4, describes that even death cannot separate the love of a daughter to her mother and vice versa.

The Love Story

Wicked Witches of the Midwest Mysteries features a love story of Bay Winchester, the lead character and Landon Michaels- the leading man. In the on and off story of their love and adventure, both learned to cope up with each other’s family who came to hate one another. Plus, the truth about the hidden witchcraft of the Winchester family that was hard for Landon to accept.

There are many books in the series and some of them are:

1. Witching You Were Here (Series No. 3) – The series of witching you were here, where in winter hits Hemlock Cove, and the snow started to drop off. In this series, Landon Michaels came back to investigate the murders in the town of Hemlock Cove, but Landon are on another purpose. Landon isn’t only the visitor in Hemlock Cove in this series. Ted Proctor, Thistle’s father came off to buy some property for a business consortium, but he’s having another reason a secret meeting and hiding a bevy of truths.

2. Witching on a Star (Series No.4)- after a long winter, in the series 4 of this book, spring has finally come at Hemlock Cove. The Winchester family decided to give Aunt Tillie a project of having her own greenhouse. As construction starts, though, Bay is approached by a young girl whom she quickly realizes no longer among the living. The little girl wants her mother and asks Bay Winchester to find her. Also, in this series, Landon finally embraced the truth about witchcraft. Bay finds out that there may be more than one ghost in need of help.

3. Something to Witch About (Series No. 5)- in this book, Bay Winchester is on a mission of hiding her Witchy ways for Landon’s family will be visiting the inn. But Landon’s mother doesn’t trust them. And on top of the paranormal havoc, the poltergeist is wreaking in every corner of town. Landon is on vacation and Clove is hiding something and it has nothing to do with the poltergeist. The poltergeist is out for blood and it will only settle for Winchester blood. In this book, a long held Hemlock Cove secret will be unveiled.

4. Witch me Luck (Series No. 6)- In this book, Witch Me Luck, Hemlock Cove is celebrating a magical birthday celebration and familiar faces came off from different places to attend the town’s event. Bay Winchester prefers to hide from her high school nemesis that roam around and chat to anyone. Here came Lila Stevens and Bay still remains her favorite target and likes to take sights at the FBI agent Landon Michaels. But Bay, cannot focus on that predicament because a local teller from Hemlock Cove Savings and Loan was shot and Sam Cornell is the suspicious person. Well, as everybody is busy enough, as usual the Winchester Witches uproar and started to search for clues. It is when Bay realizes that to find truth she has to walk first on pack of lies.

Popular characters in the series:

1. Bay Winchester- the main character in the story, she is one of the trio cousins who happens to be witches in Hemlock Cove. Bay descended from a well-known line of family witches. The rest of the family calls her blabbermouth. She gets into trouble again and again where the adventure begins. Bay is a long suffering daughter, a newspaper editor, a keyed up girlfriend, but barely holding off a royal freak out.

2. Landon Michaels- Bay’s former flirt partner and her possible boyfriend. Landon is an FBI agent who was sent to investigate for the murders, but he comes to town not only for that purpose, though; he came to make amends to Bay, ask for apologies and win her heart back to him.

3. Aunt Tillie- For Aunt Tillie, being witches is just a fun, though wickedness still exists. She cursed the youngest witches in the family in pursuit of her curmudgeonly affections. While erecting her beloved greenhouse, Aunt Tillie discovered the body that was unearthed by the construction company.

    Can’t get enough. I’ll be so upset when I finishing reading all 3 sets of the books! I feel like they are family. Thank you for the hours of entertainment and escape.
