George R.R. Martin is the highly regarded author of such dynamic series as the notable literary hit Game of Thrones.

His full name includes the middle names of Raymond Richard. He was born on September 20, 1948. Martin is a writer of short stories and books. He writes within the genres of horror, fantasy, as well as science fiction.

Martin has since ventured into being a producer of television as well as a screenwriter. Fans of his epic fantasy books have been delighted to see the fiction series be adapted for television courtesy of HBO.

The Game of Thrones television series started in 2011. Since its debut, the series has enjoyed widespread popularity and positive ratings. The show continued for years into 2019, where fans would ultimately come to enjoy the culmination of this unique hit series.

Martin was called an American version of the author Tolkien by Lev Grossman, known for his contributions to Time magazine. The high praise came in 2005. George would later enjoy more notable honors, such as being included on a list in Time of the top one hundred people living in the world today that are considered influential.

Martin serves as the editor for a new and thrilling series called simply Wild Cards. Readers are in for a creative and imaginative adventure to savor when they pick up the first novel of this great fictional series.

Wild Cards is the first novel to come out in the series with the same name. The story was created with the assistance of contributing writers Walter Jon Williams and Melinda Snodgrass along with several others. If you have been searching for something that is going to be creative with tons of adventure, then check out this series for yourself!

The setting is a time located after the second great world war has concluded. The war was devastating, but the planet is not out of the woods just yet. In N.Y.C., there is yet another threat that is lurking out there.

This would an alien virus, and it is posing a serious threat to all of humanity simply through its presence and what it naturally does. The virus is such a risk to people because what it does is transform the genes of humans in a particularly alarming way. Would you want that happening to you? We didn’t think so!

The problem with the virus and why it is wreaking havoc on the world is this: it has the power to go recessive. In this process, it can literally create not only super heroes, but super villains too. That is, if the person that gets infected with the virus even lives to tell the tale.

Most people that are coming into contact with this virus end up passing away. These victims are falling to this virus left and right. Those who survive find out that they have been left with extreme changes that are often just physical but also commonly psychic in nature. The individuals that make it through this process find out that they are not the same people that they are coming out of it that they were when they originally went in.

Aces are the ones with the powers that are in many ways more useful and general than others may possess. Deuces is the term for the individuals that develop abilities that are more small scale and even can be entertaining. The jokers are found to be less than tasteful and those with bad luck find that they are relegated to living in less than desirable living quarters.

What are the people that live in such a world to do? Most of these people never even saw a virus like this coming and didn’t predict it at all. Will the human beings that live on the planet Earth be able to put all of their heads together and find a way that they can turn this situation around? Or is a deadly virus destined to do the damage and then just walk away like nothing ever happened?

They are all about to find out and so are you, the reader! Pick up a copy of this fast paced fictional story that has been giving science fiction fun to whoever reads it. If you like this book, then be sure to check out the awesome sequel that follows after it.

The engaging second novel in the Wild Cards series is titled Aces High. The wild series continues and the story keeps on going with yet another installment of this fictional whirlwind.

The year was 1946, all the way back in the day. That was when the weird virus was first unleashed on what would prove to be an unsuspecting public. The virus became known as the “Wild Cards” virus, and this strange bug would be altering the genes of human beings before people even knew what was happening.

New York City never predicted that they would have a disaster ever befall them quite like this. The skies of this unique American city were the place where this virus first started out, and the side effects were like nothing that anyone had seen before. There was simply no frame of reference for anything like this ever happening before.

The Aces that came out of the fire and survived found that they had super powers well above what the average human being has. The Jokers similarly found that they had been disfigured into bizarre people that hardly resembled who they had been before.

Everyone seemed to have been affected by the spread of the virus. Now it has been three decades’ time that has passed since that event. Even though all of these years have passed, those what went through it find that time has not healed all wounds.

The victims of that event are still struggling to comprehend what it is that happened to them. Theirs is a fresh nightmare that is still continuing to this day. Can they get through the after effects of what has occurred? Or are they going to find that it is more difficult to leave the past behind than they originally thought? Pick up this second book to find out!
