The American writer William Christie is a former marine turned full-time writer, as he writes action packed espionage novels filled with intrigue. With a gift for suspense, he’s able to grab the readers attention then, subsequently, tease the story out through a series of hints and clues. Over time this would come to see him fulfill a long and successful career as a novelist of action and drama, keeping the reader on the edge-of-their-seat throughout.

Early and Personal Life

Growing up in America, William Christie always held a strong passion for both reading as well as writing. Keenly involved in literature, this would be something that he would embark on in later years, whilst shaping his outlook in his formative ones. Over the years he would continue to let it grow, building upon it and developing it, allowing it to become more textured and refined.

Attending the University of Pennsylvania which he later graduated from, he would continue to work on his passion of becoming a writer. This would include reading voraciously, allowing him to shape his own ideas and how best to approach the form later on. It would also provide him with an insight into the craft, letting him establish both his style and his tone in the process.

Serving in the Marine Corps as an infantry officer following his graduation, he managed to gain a first hand experience of how the military services operated. Leaving the Corps in 1987 as a First Lieutenant, he had gained a whole wealth of insight and experience with which he could feed back into his novels. This would then later lead to him becoming a full-time writer and novelist, as he used his experiences to shape his work.

Still writing to this very day, he has over nine novels to his name and counting, as he continues to develop his style. With a gift for both intrigue and suspense, he’s managed to carve himself an extremely lucrative niche within the industry. This wont be stopping any time soon either, as he looks all set to carry on into the foreseeable future for many years to come.

Writing Career

The year of 1992 was when he brought his first book out, it being a stand-alone title called ‘The Warriors of God’. It being a political thriller, it managed to capture a level of high-octane suspense and intrigue, taking the reader on an action packed journey. The later novels would also be similar in their nature, as he followed this up with a collection of similarly themed stand-alone titles.

Many of his novels would come to be centered around the ‘war on terror’, something which would become a recurring theme for him over the years. Moving all across the world with his stories, he would give his ideas scope and breadth, allowing them to really provide a sense of scale. Over the years this would develop with the times, as he would reflect what’s going on in the world around him and on the news.

Also writing under the name of F.J. Chase as well, he’s managed to publish a number of books under this title. As well as this he’s also published under the name Keith Douglass, as he brought out a book in the series ‘SEAL Team Seven’. This would be called ‘SEAL Team Seven: Direct Action’, as he made a contribution to another long-running and highly popular franchise.

Gaining a lot of acclaim throughout the years, he’s come to be regarded as a writer who is at the top of his field. Clearly writing with a lot of experience, many turn to him for accuracy and authenticity, something which definitely draws the reader in effectively. Lauded by both critics and the general public alike, these books have appealed to readers all over the world, a fanbase which is growing everyday.

A consummate professional admired by both his many peers and contemporaries alike, he has been able to make a name for himself unlike any other. Admired across the world thanks to his high levels of accuracy, he is regarded as one of the leading figures currently working within his field. Still with a lot more to come on the horizon, the writing career of William Christie continues to grow from strength-to-strength.

A Single Spy

One of the later novels from William Christie, this was first brought out on the 25th of April in 2017 to much acclaim. Working as a stand-alone once more, it would be published through the ‘Minotaur Books’ publishing platform for a worldwide audience. Showing a clear sense of development from his earlier efforts, this is a highly competent thriller novel with everything that’s expected and more.

Taking place during the second world war, this follows the Russian spy Aleski Ivanovich Smirnov, as he’s inserted deep undercover into Nazi Germany. Living as the supposed dutiful nephew of a high-ranking Nazi official he must spend seven years there collecting information. Then, in 1943, he’s sent by the Gestapo to infiltrate the upcoming Tehran conference between Roosevelt and Churchill. Will he be able to make a break for it? Where do his loyalties lie having been pushed into it all reluctantly by the Russians at just seventeen? What will become of a single spy?

Threat Level: A Novel on the War on Terror

Released through the ‘Open Road Distribution’ publishing label, this was one of Christie’s many books on the war on terror. Initially published on the 4th of August in 2015, it would contain many of the hallmarks that he’s now famous for as a writer. With suspense, tension and intrigue, it manages to deliver on the action throughout, keeping the reader glued to their seat constantly.

There’s a plot by the Al Qaeda to kill the US president currently underway, following an international criminal investigation and a terrorist take-down in the Philippines. This means Special Forces Lee Troy and Ed Storey are put on the trail, along with FBI Special Agent Beth Royale as well. Travelling all over from Bangkok to Pakistan, it appears that there’s a terror attack planned on US soil, one which threatens to destroy Washington DC itself. Will they be able to stop it in time? Who is behind all of this? Can they lower the threat level?
