Super Sales on Super Heroes
Super Sales on Super Heroes is the first book in the Super Sales on Super Heroes series. The book features Felix, a sad man with a pretty crappy superpower. Felix can modify and upgrade whatever item he lays his hands on. While his power looks good on paper, the energy it would take for him to change or upgrade something worthwhile is way beyond his abilities. This means that Felix has no choice but to settle for a normal life and job managing a fast-food restaurant. All this is until a Super Villain takes over his city, and Felix discovers that through the black market, he can create an exciting empire for himself while helping those around him get what they want.

The Villains seem to be gaining popularity even after legalizing slavery and introducing all types of vices. People are happy that the economy is improving, and the crime rate has gone down, so they care little about anything else. With all the mess happening in the city, Felix accidentally buys himself a slave. When he realizes that this often happens to others, Felix decides to use his superpower to build and operate his slave company. For him, his business is better because he treats his slaves well, and they gain more from this arrangement than they give up. Soon enough, Felix is surrounded by beautiful women who would do anything that he likes, even though he has little to offer.

This is a fun story featuring villains, heroes, and the main character with an odd superpower. With the right sense of humor, Felix’s sarcastic streak and loose morals are quite intriguing. The author has done a great job of using profanities to bring some humor in the story and to talk about sensitive issues in a very light way. The story comes with the right dose of action and humor, not to mention the fun characters and cool magic. You may not agree with Felix’s way of thinking or ethics, but you can be sure that this troubled soul will leave you with a big smile on your face.

Super Sales on Super Heroes is a fun book that reads easy and fast. The story will have you laughing from the first page, what with Felix’s foul mouth, and all that is going on around him. This is one of those stories that are so wrong they feel right when you read them. Delivery is detailed, and everything is graphically explained in this violent world with bad, immoral, and care-free people who only want to survive despite the labels, moral intentions, and outcomes.

Swing Shift
Swing Shift is the first book in the Swing Shift series. The series features Gus, a detective with the Paranormal Investigations Department (PID) and Vanessa, his new partner at work. Gus is trying to live a quiet life when Vanessa is temporarily assigned to work him on a case that has everyone puzzled. Their job is to find out why some calm paranormals are becoming violent and, if possible quiet them and solve any issues. Since the paranormals are far fewer than humans, they have often kept themselves secret, so it is surprising that they are now acting violent and attracting everyone’s attention. What Gus doesn’t know is that this case is going to rock his life.

Gus looks human, but he is actually a boogieman. His kind has been hunted almost to extinction, and Gus knows all too well that the only way to live is to keep a low profile. When living in a world filled with humans who know little if anything about the supernatural, his kind use IDs that often mask their nature. However, the IDs have started failing, and Gus has to solve this mystery before it is too late, even for him. Vanessa becomes his human partner in this investigation and then enters a woman who drops everything to help the man she is madly in love with.

Gus is dealing with a woman he thinks is a bit insane. Melody is the name of the powerful contractor who declares that she is in love with Gus and wants nothing but to marry him. Aside from her insane declarations, Melody is pretty hilarious, and while everyone is avoiding sex, she doesn’t hide the fact that she cannot wait to enjoy three and Fourways with her friends. Vanessa, on the other hand, is sort of having a crisis in her love life. Vanessa has a girlfriend named Wendy, who is not nice to people, possibly because she is part werewolf. However, Vanessa doesn’t know this yet though it is not uncommon to find paranormals living among humans. Will Vanessa discover the truth eventually? How will Gus and Melody’s relationship end?

This is an interesting story with a well-done mystery. The main characters are entertaining, and the rest of the cast is just as exciting. Swing Shift is a perfect choice if you love paranormal stories with little if any, sex or romance. Get to meet Gus, a detective who finds comfort in his office because he cannot figure out civilian life. While his harem is small enough, they are already involved in intriguing adventures. For example, there is Vanessa, a talented woman who is entangled with a woman she knows nothing about, and Melody, who is funny, smart, and possibly the most interesting character in this story. This book is around 400 pages, but the story moves fast, and you can enjoy it all in two or three sittings.
